Everyone was focused on the latest problem, again.
Eventually something clicked, I'd seen this before.
In netball language, I'd refer to this as everyone running towards the ball and leaving their positions open for attack. I play Goal Keeper and Goal Shooter so I'm used to being able to scan the whole field and find the gaps and open areas to take advantage of.
Working with senior leaders inside organisations, I saw it happen time and time again - everyone scrambling to fix today’s crisis, chasing urgent (but delegatable) tasks, reacting instead of planning. Sales, operations, strategy - everything was running, but no one had the space to step back and ask, is this actually running properly?
And I see solopreneurs doing the exact same thing.
When you’re running everything yourself, sales don’t stop being important, but they do stop being urgent - until you hit a slow month and suddenly, it’s very urgent. But by then, you’re already on the back foot.
That’s why I work 1-on-1 with business owners for 6 weeks - not just to fix what’s broken, but to create a sales system that works in the background. A structured, repeatable process that keeps your pipeline moving without you having to start from scratch every time you need a new client.
So the next time you’re deep in the day-to-day of your business, ask yourself - who’s looking at the bigger picture?
If you need support getting your sales system working for you (instead of demanding more from you), let’s chat.
