Operation Sceptre 18th–24th May is underway in the UK🚨
This week marks the national Knife Crime Awareness Week. Police forces and community partners across the UK are stepping up enforcement, education, and weapon sweeps to keep our streets safe.
As part of this week of action, Surrey Police are highlighting permanent, anonymous knife amnesty bins available across the county. If you have unwanted, old, or dangerous bladed items, you can surrender them at any time with zero questions asked and no personal details required.
📍 Where to find an amnesty bin in Surrey:
Guildford: Police Station (Margaret Road)
Staines: Police Station (Kingston Road)
Caterham: Police Station (Timber Hill Road)
Woking: Civic Offices (Gloucester Square)
Elmbridge: Civic Centre (Esher High Street)
Reigate: Police Station (Reigate Road)
Epsom Hospital: Main Site (Dorking Road) — Surrey's first secure, hospital-based drop box.
⚠️ Best practice for transport:
As security professionals, Total Task Consultancy remind anyone using these facilities that complying with safety laws during transport is essential. Ensure all items are heavily wrapped in thick cardboard or bubble wrap, sealed within a robust container, and transported directly to the disposal site without unnecessary diversion.
Carrying a knife doesn’t make you safer. Together, we can help reduce violence and protect our communities.
