And just like that, summer seems to be drawing to a close… 🍂

August gave us plenty to remember, with our CleanEvent teams supporting a fantastic mix of sport, entertainment and major event activity across the country.

One of the month’s highlights was the British Grand Prix MotoGP at Silverstone, where long days, large crowds and constant demands kept everyone on their toes. From maintaining standards throughout the event to completing the all-important post-clean, it was a huge operation and a brilliant example of our people working together under pressure.

Beyond Silverstone, August took us from racecourses and football stadiums to live music and entertainment - with early starts, late finishes and quick turnarounds all part of making sure each space was ready for its visitors.

Behind the scenes, it has been a busy month too, with new contracts moving through mobilisation across both CleanEvent and CleanKitchen, bringing teams from across the business together to prepare for successful starts.

Now, as summer makes way for autumn, and the weather gets colder, attention turns to a packed football calendar and more exciting season of events ahead.

A huge thank you to everyone who played their part in an incredible August. 👏

A different kind of engine taking to the floor at Silverstone. 🏁

There’s plenty of impressive engines at Silverstone , but this one has a slightly different job to do.
Our autonomous sweeper is helping the CleanEvent team maintain the large event spaces across the venue, working alongside our people to take care of repetitive floor cleaning across expansive areas.

For us, introducing technology like this isn’t about replacing the expertise of our teams. It’s about giving them another tool to work with. By allowing the cobot to cover large, open floor areas autonomously, our people can focus their time where their judgement, experience and attention make the greatest difference.

And at a venue synonymous with innovation and performance, it feels like a fitting place to put smarter cleaning technology to work.

Of course, when your workspace happens to include some rather special cars, careful navigation is part of the job. Safe to say, our newest team member knows to keep a respectful distance! 👀🏎️

It might not be the fastest machine, but it certainly knows its way around the floor. 🧹

This is exactly what we hope an internship with us should be about. 💙

Welcoming students into our business gives us an opportunity to share our industry with people at the beginning of their careers, but it works both ways. New perspectives, different experiences and plenty of questions are valuable to us too.

Over the past six months, Dalma has become a genuine part of our team, embracing every opportunity she has been given and making a valued contribution along the way.

We're particularly pleased that her time with us has given her such a positive experience of both CleanEvent and the wider industry. Hopefully, she leaves with new skills, greater confidence and a few stories to tell from some pretty memorable British events!

Thank you, Dalma, for everything you've brought to the business during your time with us. We wish you every success as you return to your studies and wherever they take you next. Keep in touch! 👏

As Manchester City's Official Supplier of commercial cleaning services, our M11 team has supported the Club throughout the past year, helping to maintain high standards across the Etihad Campus, including the new Women's First Team Building and the Pep Guardiola Stand.

Throughout the year, we've received positive feedback recognising the professionalism, flexibility and commitment shown by the team across a variety of environments, from matchdays and stadium operations to large-scale events and concerts.

With the new season now underway, we'd like to thank every member of the M11 team for their dedication and contribution over the last 12 months, including another busy summer period.

The spotlight may be on the pitch, but behind every matchday is a team working hard to ensure everything is ready to welcome players, staff and fans alike.

Team Spotlight | The O2 Belfast 👏

No two days at The O2 Belfast are quite the same.

The team can be preparing for a completely different type of event from one shift to the next. The layout changes, the audience changes, the timings change - but the expectation to have the venue ready never does.

Led by Venue Presentation Manager, Stacey Crowe, the CleanEvent Services team puts an enormous amount of work into making that happen.

From preparing ahead of the doors opening, to maintaining standards while welcoming thousands of guests into the arena - and then resetting it all when the event comes to an end.

That variety calls for real flexibility from the team. Plans can change, priorities can shift and every event brings something different. Our people are trusted and empowered to respond, take responsibility for their areas and make sure the job gets done to the standard expected.

And it’s often the details that make the difference. The work pictured here is just a snapshot of what goes into presenting the venue at that standard - including the areas and tasks that guests might never notice.

Across a busy calendar, it’s the consistency of the team that stands out. Everyone has a part to play, working together to deliver the high standards we set ourselves and meet the expectations of our client, whatever the event brings.

A well-deserved spotlight for Stacey and The O2 Belfast team - and a great example of our FRESH values being put into practice every day.

The new football season has officially kicked off across the divisions! ⚽

The turnstiles are moving. The stands are filling. The atmosphere is building.

Behind every matchday, there’s a team making sure the venue is ready for the first whistle, working throughout the action and getting everything reset when the final fan heads home.

At CleanEvent Services, we’re proud to be part of the team behind the team - delivering the cleaning, presentation and operational standards that help create great matchday experiences for supporters at stadiums across the country.

And with the transfer window still open, there’s been a new signing of our own… 🤝

Our latest recruit comes on wheels - a new Cobot has joined the squad, working alongside our people to take on repetitive floor cleaning, enabling our teams to focus their time and expertise where it makes the biggest difference.

No squad number yet, though...

To all our colleagues working across football venues this season: thank you for the energy, commitment and teamwork you bring to every fixture.

⚡Quick Fire Questions with Lisa Mallon...

1: If you could hang out with any cartoon character, who would you choose and why? 😀

Mr Benn - I absolutely loved it as a child. He'd walk into that little costume shop, disappear through the changing-room door and suddenly be off on a completely different adventure. I'd definitely want to go through the door with him and see where we ended up! Although choosing Mr Benn is probably showing my age now...

2: If you could meet any living person for dinner, who would you pick, why and what would you have for dinner? 👀

Jay Kay from Jamiroquai - I've loved him and his music since I first heard ‘Too Young to Die’ back in the early 90s and I've seen Jamiroquai live many times. I'd love to talk music and cars with him - dinner would have to be at mine for a proper roast. You can't beat a roast dinner, and I make a pretty good one!

3: Cats or dogs? 😺🐶

Dogs - no contest! We have three cocker spaniels, and I absolutely adore them - unconditional love, complete chaos and a good walk through the meadow is the perfect reset after a day at work. Even better when it's pouring with rain and they're having the time of their lives!

4: If you had to eat one meal every day for the rest of your life, what would it be? 🍽️

I'm going back to the roast dinner, as technically I could change the meat, veg, potatoes, stuffing... so I'm counting that as variety (I've thought this through!)

5: What is your favourite TV show? 📺

I've got a few, but I'll go with ‘Silent Witness’. Give me a murder, a mystery and something to work out and I'm happy. That possibly sounds more sinister than I intended it to...

6: What is your favourite sport to watch and why? ⚽

Football - 100%. I'm a QPR season ticket holder and absolutely LOVE the rollercoaster they put me through every season (or do I?! 😂). Some of the best moments of my life have been watching QPR, although there have also been moments of complete and utter despair!

7: Would you rather be the funniest or smartest person in the room? 🧠🤣

Can I be both?! Probably funniest - if you can make people laugh, they relax, conversation flows and you get to know people properly. And isn't everyone smart in their own way? Not everyone is funny...

8: What's the best advice you've ever had? 💬

Always look forward, not backwards. You can't change what's already happened, but you can control what you do next. I've carried that with me for a long time.

9: What's your favourite place you've ever visited? 🏖️

Kuramathi in the Maldives - simply the most beautiful place I've ever been. Standing at the very end of the sandbank, surrounded by nothing but sea, was probably the most peaceful moment I've ever experienced - absolutely unforgettable.
