Proud to support the Talk Club Walk today 💙

Today, SEVRA Group Limited, alongside our sister company Revive EMS Limited, are out in support of the Talk Club Walk from Portishead to Hornets Rugby Club, Weston-super-Mare.

This is an incredible cause raising awareness for men's mental health, a conversation that matters more than ever. Talk Club asks one simple question: "How are you, out of ten?" That little check-in opens the door to honest conversations, and those conversations save lives.

SEVRA is proud to back the walk with a donation of over 100 bottles of water and high-energy snacks to keep everyone going. And Revive EMS Limited, our sister company, is providing the on-the-ground medical cover and support throughout the day, with both directors being ex-frontline ambulance crew.
So today we're asking too: how are you, out of ten? And remember, it's always okay to talk.

You don't smell it. You don't hear it. You don't see it.

Behind a closed consumer unit cover, a few loose terminal screws are quietly cooking - arcing, scorching the copper, melting insulation, eating away at the neutral bar one millimetre at a time.

⚠️ This is why EICRs matter.

What you're looking at is the inside of a consumer unit we attended this week. Loose terminations on the neutral bar have caused severe arcing and overheating - you can see the charred copper, scorched insulation, and burnt brass where the screws failed to clamp the conductors properly.

The owner had no idea. Hidden behind a cover, in a cupboard, doing its job quietly.. until it isn't. By the time most people do find out, it's because the fire brigade is already on the driveway.

An EICR isn't a tick-box exercise. It's the difference between catching a fault like this and reading about it in the paper.

If your property hasn't had an Electrical Installation Condition Report in the last 5 years (10 for domestic), now is the time. Landlords - it's a legal requirement.

Another job ticked off by the SEVRA team!

We've installed heavy-duty security mesh to an existing wrought iron gateway to prevent unauthorised access - a simple, cost-effective upgrade that significantly improves site security without the need to replace the original ironwork.

The mesh closes the gaps between the decorative bars, stopping anyone climbing over or reaching through, while keeping the original character of the entrance intact.

This week SEVRA attended The Security Event 2026, The Fire Safety Event 2026, and The Health & Safety Event 2026 at the NEC Birmingham.

A few days spent surrounded by some of the best manufacturers, innovators, integrators, and compliance specialists in the industry, all focused on one thing - raising standards across safety, security, infrastructure, and operational resilience.

From next-generation fire detection and intelligent monitoring through to integrated CCTV, access control, compliance systems, and workplace safety technology, the scale of innovation across the events was clear to see.

What stood out most was how rapidly the industry is moving towards connected, accountable, and fully integrated solutions. Clients no longer want five different contractors passing responsibility between each other. They want joined-up systems, clear accountability, faster response, stronger compliance, and trusted long-term support.

That is exactly the direction SEVRA is building towards.

The week gave us the opportunity to strengthen supplier relationships, explore emerging technologies, and have valuable conversations around the future of integrated service delivery across fire, security, compliance, facilities, and infrastructure support.

A productive few days with a lot coming back with us.

The industry is evolving quickly.

It's important to test your smoke alarms regularly. Did you know that the average smoke alarm has a lifespan of just ten years and then needs replacing?

To keep your alarms in working order:

- Make sure there is at least one smoke alarm on every level of your home

- Test your smoke alarms by pushing the button every month

- Check that your smoke alarms are less than 10 years old

- Change the batteries every year. Never remove them.

- Fit smoke alarms in the right place - on landings and hallways and near bedrooms.
