Global Advocacy Forum (GAF2025) - Part 1 - Dec 1 to Dec 3 2025

Global Advocacy Award recipients from 15 countries and territories celebrated for their impactful contributions to development advocacy.

Beyond rewarding selflessness, innovation and impact of our Development Advocates, GAF2025 was a Forum to perceive and explore the possibilities of a Global Advocacy Partnership.

This first Forum welcomed both in-person and virtual participation of development advocates from about 20 countries.

We are grateful to all Speakers who shared with us from the wealth of their knowledge - Prof Dr Hüseyin Gokcekus, Ms Phillipa Dianne Lawrence, Prof Mojeed Alabi, Amb. Nancy Karigithu, Prof Zehra Altinay, Prof Fahriye Altinay, and partners who made this possible - Prof Divya Singhal (Centre For Social Sensitivity and Action (CSSA), GIM), Dr. Mark Charlton (De Montfort University), Mr Gordon Reid and Ms Tracy (Fitzroy House - United for Human Rights), Near East University (NEU), Odesa National Maritime University (official), UST Angelicum College.

We are also grateful to session facilitators, including: Dr Sreerupa Sengupta, Mr Erik Henningsmoen, Mr Naqeeb Sahil and Dr Rima Al Hasan,

From Africa, to Asia, Europe, Americas and Oceania, we see people with passion and innovation impacting their communities, countries and continents. Particularly in the last decade of the UN 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, volunteers, major groups, civil society organisations and non-governmental organisations have been instrumental in the localisation of the framework, many of whom deserve to be recognised and celebrated.

From 1-3 December, the Global Advocacy Forum 2025 brought together game-changers in development advocacy, both in-person and virtually to celebrate the impact they are making locally, across regions, and as a result, globally.

It has been a beautiful experience meeting many colleagues we have worked together virtually and celebrating, learning and developing new plans with them.

We are grateful to everyone and every organisation that made GAF2025 possible.

Thanks to everyone who responded to our nominations for the Global Advocacy Awards 2025. As the first GAF Awards, we are very much encouraged by the responses and feedbacks we received which will be very useful in shaping future decisions.
