Today reminded me that being a VA is all about staying organised, adaptable and calm under pressure, even when plans suddenly change!

Running Hitchin Business Buzz without our host John Greenall or my trusty sidekick Verity Stainsby certainly kept me on my toes, but great systems and a positive network makes all the difference.

With some much appreciated support from Leigh Frost we welcomed 43 people into our network this morning!

A special welcome today to Caroline Crook and Diane Humberstone from Variety Express https://varietyexpress.org.uk a North Hertfordshire-based community theatre group that has raised over £130,000 for local and national causes which is an incredible achievement.

Wow! Wow! Wow! What can I say?

I am absolutely blown away by our Business Buzz Hitchin meeting this morning.

✨ 49 local businesses joined us to celebrate our first birthday under our brilliant Host, John Greenall

It was fantastic to see so many familiar faces alongside some great new ones. We also heard from:
🔹 Danny Pearson - Hitchin’s new Town Centre Manager
🔹 Sally Griffin from North Hertfordshire & Stevenage CVS, who support voluntary and community groups of all shapes and sizes across our area.

And yes… there was birthday cake! 🎂

The feedback today was just wonderful - comments about how welcoming the room feels, the positive energy, the great vibe, and how easy and comfortable it is to move around and have conversations. That’s exactly what Business Buzz - Local Business Networking is all about.

On a personal note, I’ve absolutely loved being an Ambassador for the past 11 months, alongside my fellow Ambassador Verity Stainsby. Being Hitchin born and bred, I’m incredibly proud to be part of such a fantastic network - supporting so many brilliant local businesses, many of whom I’m lucky enough to now call friends.

✨ What a fantastic morning we had yesterday at Business Buzz Hitchin! Business Buzz Hertfordshire

Despite the unexpected snowstorm, we still had an incredible 41 attendees join us for our networking session. It was brilliant to see so many local businesses connecting, collaborating, and supporting one another - the energy in the room was amazing!

This month’s charity spotlight was Liz Le Coze from Home-Start UK https://www.home-start.org.uk/, who shared the vital work they do providing a local community network of trained volunteers and expert support, helping families with young children navigate challenging times. 💛 They are there for parents when they need it most.
