பேராசிரியர் ஹூல் சகோதரர்கள்- எப்ஸ்டீன் விவகாரம்
பொக்கை வாயனுக்கு அவல் கிடைத்த கதை போல 'நாமல் கைது', 'கோத்தபாய கைது' என்று அவியாத பருப்பை தொடர்ந்து அவித்துக்கொண்டிருக்கும் ஈச்சாப்பி 'ஐ.பீ.சீ ' யின் யூடியூபருக்கு புதிய கதையொன்று கிடைத்துள்ளது.
அண்மைக் காலமாக உலகளாவிய ரீதியில் முதன்மைச் செய்தியாக பவனிவந்து கொண்டிருக்கும்; 'எப்ஸ்டீன்' விவகாரத்தில் ஆசிய நாட்டினர் பெரிதாக ஈடுபட்டதாகத் தெரியவில்லை. அமெரிக்க-இஸ்ரேலியரான எப்ஸ்டீன், உலகத் தொழில்நுட்ப செல்வந்தர்கள், அரச குடும்பத்தினர்கள், ஐரோப்பிய-அமெரிக்க உயர் அரசியல்வாதிகளையே இதுவரை தமது சொர்க்க வலையில் திட்டமிட்டு வீழ்த்தி வந்துள்ளார். எப்ஸ்டீன் அவர்கள் இஸ்ரேலிய (மொஸாட்), அமெரிக்க (FBI) உளவு ஸ்தாபனங்களின் கைக்கூலி என்ற ஆய்வும் இங்கு அவதானிக்கத்தக்கது.
மனிதன் தோன்றிய காலத்திலிருந்தே தொடர்ந்து வரும் மது, மாது, பணம் ஆகியவற்றை அடிப்படையாக வைத்தே எப்ஸ்டீனின் பொருளாதார அரசியல் கட்டுப்பாடுகள் விஸ்தரிக்கப்பட்டிருந்தன. இந்தக் கோட்பாட்டில் இயங்கி வந்த எப்ஸ்டீன் ஆசிய, அரபுப் பிரதேசங்களில் உள்ளவர்களின் மேல் பெரிதாக கைவைக்கவில்லை.
உண்மை நிலைமை இப்படியிருக்க, மொட்டைத் தலைக்கும் முழங்காலுக்கும் முடிச்சுப்போட்டது போல, இலங்கையின் சரித்திரத்தில் முதன்மை கணித வல்லுநர்களாகக் கருதப்படும் ராஜன், ரட்ணஜீவன் ஹூல் சகோதரர்களுக்கும் எப்ஸ்டீனுக்கும் தொடர்பு இருப்பதாக 'ஐ.பீ.சீ ' யின் வடிவேல் யூடியூபர்கள் கதையொன்றை சோடித்து ஹூல் சகோதரர்கள் மீது வசைபாடி வருகின்றனர். இந்தச் செய்தி 'ஐ.பீ.சீ ' யின் யூடியூபர்களின் வெற்றுமண்டையை வெளிச்சமிட்டுக் காட்டுகின்றது.
ஐரோப்பிய நாடுகளில் வசித்துக்கொண்டு நடிகர் வடிவேலுவின் பாணியில் 'நானும் ரவுடி தான்' என்ற மாதிரி 'நானும் பத்திரிகையாளன் தான்' என்று கவிதைத் தொனியில் செய்தி வாசிக்கும் 'ஐ.பீ.சீ ' ஜெகன், புட்டும் கையுமாக, புட்டை சப்பி விழுங்கியபடி பேட்டி கொடுக்கும் 'ஐ.பீ.சீ ' உரிமையாளர் திரு கந்தையா பாஸ்கரன் ஆகியோர் இந்த சுத்துமாத்துக் கதைகளைத் தவிர்த்து, தரமான ஊடக முறைமையை பின்பற்றி செயற்படவேண்டும்.
யாழ் மாவட்டத்தில் பிறந்து அங்கேயே தமது ஆரம்ப, உயர் கல்வியை தமிழில் கற்று, பின்னர் ஒக்ஸ்போர்ட், அமெரிக்கா போன்ற ஊர்களின் உயர் பல்கலைக்கழகங்களில் மேற்படிப்பினைத் தொடர்ந்து அறிஞர்களாகி, வெளிநாடுகளில் பேராசிரியர்களாகப் பணியாற்றி, தாய்நாட்டிற்கு பெரும் மதிப்பினைப் பெற்றுக்கொடுத்த பின்னர் தாய்மண் பற்றுக் காரணமாகத் தாம் பிறந்த மண்ணிற்கே மீண்டும் சென்று அங்கு தமது கல்விப் பணியை தொடர்ந்ததுடன் மனித உரிமைகளுக்காகவும் குரல் கொடுத்து வந்த 'ஹூல்' போன்ற பெரிய மனிதர்களை, ஐரோப்பிய மண்ணில் இருந்து கொண்டு தாமும் பத்திரிகையாளர்கள் தான் என்று எழுதிக் கொண்டு ஒவ்வொரு நாளும் முகத்தில் பௌடரை அப்பிக்கொண்டு ஐபோன்களுக்கு முன்னால் குந்தி இருந்து கொண்டு அலம்பும் இவர்கள் சற்று சிந்தித்து செயலாற்ற வேண்டும்.
நான் நேற்று முன்தினம் பேராசிரியர் ரட்ணஜீவனுடன் தொடர்புகொண்டு செய்திப் பரிமாற்றம் செய்திருந்தேன். அவருடன் நீண்டகாலம் தொடர்பில் இருந்த அனுபவம் எனக்கு உண்டு. 'ஐ.பீ.சீ ' யில் பணிபுரியும் எந்த ஒரு யூடியூபருக்கும் இத்தகைய கல்விமான்களுடனோ உயர்தர அரசியல்வாதிகளுடனோ அறிவார்ந்த தொடர்பினையும் ஏற்படுத்திக்கொள்ளும் சக்தி இல்லை. உயர்மட்ட அறிஞர்களுடன் தொடர்பே இல்லாத இவர்களின் செய்திகள் எல்லாம் மற்றைய ஊடகங்களிலிருந்து உருவி எடுத்த தழுவல்களே. எதுவுமே 'ஒறிஜினல்' இல்லை. 'ஊடகத்துறையில்' 30 ஆண்டுகளைத் தாண்டி விட்டீர்கள். இனியாவது திருந்துங்கள்.
Professor Hoole Brothers – The Epstein Controversy
Like the proverbial tale of a toothless man delighting in soft food, the IBC – Tamil (International Broadcasting Corporation – Tamil) YouTuber who has been repeatedly reheating the worn-out narratives of “Namal arrested” and “Gotabaya arrested” has now found a new storyline to pursue.
In recent times, the Epstein affair has dominated global headlines. There is little evidence to suggest significant involvement by individuals from Asian countries in this matter. Jeffrey Epstein, an American-Israeli financier, is alleged to have systematically ensnared global technology magnates, members of royal families, and senior political figures from Europe and the United States in his network. There are also analyses suggesting that Epstein may have operated as an asset or intermediary for Israeli (Mossad) and American (FBI) intelligence agencies—an aspect that warrants careful consideration.
From time immemorial, alcohol, women, and money have served as powerful instruments of influence; it was upon these foundations that Epstein’s economic and political leverage was reportedly constructed. Even so, his activities do not appear to have substantially targeted individuals from Asian or Arab regions.
Against this factual backdrop, it is both illogical and irresponsible for certain IBC-Tamil YouTubers to fabricate and circulate claims linking the Hoole brothers—Rajan and Ratnajeevan Hoole, widely regarded among Sri Lanka’s most distinguished mathematicians—to Epstein. Such baseless allegations merely expose the intellectual bankruptcy of those promoting them.
Residing in Europe and, in the theatrical style of comedian Vadivelu declaring, “I too am a rowdy,” presenting themselves as “journalists” in a similarly performative tone, IBC’s Jagan and IBC owner Mr. Kandiah Baskaran would do well to abandon sensationalist storytelling and instead adhere to recognized standards of professional journalism.
Born in the Jaffna district and educated there in Tamil through their primary and secondary schooling, later pursuing advanced studies at leading institutions such as Oxford and universities in the United States, the Hoole brothers went on to serve as professors abroad, bringing distinction to their homeland. Motivated by a deep sense of commitment to their native soil, they returned to Sri Lanka to continue their academic work and to advocate for human rights. It is unbecoming for individuals who broadcast daily from European soil—positioning themselves before smartphone cameras and claiming journalistic credentials—to cast aspersions on scholars of such standing. Greater reflection and responsibility are called for.
I personally communicated with Professor Ratnajeevan Hoole the day before yesterday and have maintained contact with him over many years. None of the YouTubers associated with IBC appear to possess the intellectual standing or professional capacity to cultivate meaningful engagement with academics of this calibre or with senior political leaders. Lacking substantive access to high-level scholarly networks, their reports are largely derivative reproductions of material sourced from other media outlets. There is little that can be described as original journalism.
Having spent over three decades in the media industry, it is perhaps time to reassess and recommit to professional standards or better retire.
