More women ARE moving into the construction industry, but why? 👷‍♀️

With the rise of AI threatening jobs across a number of industries, more women are looking towards construction as a career with greater long-term security.

But that’s not the only reason.

Better opportunities, good earning potential and a shift in attitudes towards women in traditionally male-dominated roles are all helping to make construction a more attractive career choice.

There’s still work to be done but it is great to see that change is happening 🙌

That means getting women in construction heard. Connecting industry with education. Creating opportunities for the next generation.

From conversations on site and in the classroom to taking those conversations all the way to Westminster, we’re making sure women in construction have a voice in the rooms that matter.

Because real change doesn’t come from conversation alone.

It comes from getting in front of people, building connections and turning conversations into action 🙌

Whatever your results, there are so many opportunities and pathways ahead of you. Your results are just one part of your journey and there’s no single route to where you want to be.

Whether your next step is college, an apprenticeship, further training or something completely different, take the time to be proud of what you’ve achieved and look forward to what comes next.

At the Suffolk Show (Official), we caught up with some of the amazing women who work for Blackwell Earthmoving 🚜

With over 21% of their workforce on the Sizewell C project being female, they are leading the way for women in construction.

Last week, the Government announced plans to make sure Britain values the hard hat just as much as the graduation cap.

For years, the construction industry has been working to change the perception that university is the only route to a successful career. Apprenticeships and vocational training provide valuable opportunities to develop skills, gain hands-on experience and build long-term careers.

We hope this new plan encourages even more people to consider a career in construction and helps shine a light on the wide range of opportunities the industry has to offer 🙌
