Independent businesses bring something special to our communities.

A group of traders in Hexham recently came together to create a short video celebrating not just themselves, but every independent across the country.

Sure, big companies might offer convenience or lower prices—but they can’t offer unique. They can’t offer that warm, personal connection you get when you shop local.
I’ll admit I’m a little biased about this video—one of my longest-standing clients is featured, and her jewellery is absolutely stunning. (I even got my ears re-pierced just so I could wear her earrings!)

Keep an eye out for Handmade by LollaMac in the video, and if you’re nearby, go see for yourself. Supporting independents means supporting creativity, individuality, and community.

What a week it’s been! 🐝🎉

This week I celebrated 4 years in business – and what an adventure it's been. I'm so proud of everything WorkerBee has achieved and the brilliant people I get to support. We welcomed a brand new client into the hive and started supporting another amazing company on their journey – it’s always a buzz to help businesses grow.

I'm also thrilled to be sponsoring the THE CHARLIE AND CARTER FOUNDATION LIMITED GNR vests again this year – this is an amazing charity !

And finally, a rare parenting win: both kids with me at the same time at the Newcastle Falcons Rugby Club last home game of the season! 🏉💛

Easter Bank Holiday: Rugby, Rest & Repeat 🏉🐣

First bank holiday of the year and, of course, the weather’s looking classically British (umbrella at the ready!).

I’m planning a chilled weekend to recharge—with a full lineup of rugby: Tag, 7s, Newcastle Falcons, and the England Ladies. If it’s on a pitch, I’ll be watching it!

Rest doesn’t always mean doing nothing—sometimes it’s just doing what you love, without an alarm clock.

Not my usual thing… but I had to make a WorkerBee doll. Well, actually… two. I couldn’t resist! 🐝✨

Meet Holiday WorkerBee (yes, I do sometimes work on holiday!) and Networking WorkerBee. And if you look closely, you’ll see I’ve got an extra hand — because let’s be honest, all VAs need more than one pair! 🙌

After a week of buzzing around – networking, stock taking, file cleansing (and all the bits in between) – it felt right to end with a little fun.
It’s been a hive of activity… so why not add a sting of silliness to finish the week? 😉

Finding the right balance is key! After a busy week of keeping clients on track—managing their invoicing, ensuring they make their meetings, and handling all the behind-the-scenes tasks that keep things running smoothly—I made time to unwind.

Last night, I had myself to an evening at the theatre, watching Swan Lake Newcastle Theatre Royal. It was the perfect way to switch off, immerse myself in something beautiful, and recharge for the week ahead. Work is important, but so is taking a step back and enjoying the moments that bring joy.

Wow! A huge thank you to everyone who joined us last night for our very first C&C Connect of 2025—what a fantastic evening!

Paul Innes MMC captivated us all with his incredible magic, leaving the room in awe with his mind-blowing tricks and illusions. His talent and showmanship brought an extra spark to the evening, creating moments of wonder and laughter.
Kay McCready’s heartfelt words encouraged us to embrace life with positivity and see challenges as opportunities, reminding us that a change in perspective can make all the difference. Her story was truly uplifting and left a lasting impact on everyone in the room.

As 2024 comes to a close, it’s time to reflect on an incredible year!
Personally, I’ve embraced being life, enjoyed solo trips to the theatre and concerts, and even ventured on a dream solo holiday to Dubai! 🌍✨
Professionally, WorkerBee has continued to thrive, welcoming both new and returning clients. I’m thrilled to announce a new venture for 2025: supporting the The Charlie & Carter Foundation "CCF" and Laura Jane Forbes with newsletters and networking events.
Next year also holds another solo adventure, this time to India and a couple of bucket-list concerts and shows.
