๐Ÿ‡ Burgh Rabbit Control โ€“ Spot the Signs ๐Ÿ‡

Rabbit activity isnโ€™t always obvious at first glance but the signs are there if you know what to look for.

Can you spot the signs?
Fresh burrow entrances (often clean and recently dug)
Well-used runs through grass or hedges.
Grazed patches, especially short, cropped areas.
Droppings close to feeding spots.

Catching these early can make a big difference before numbers build up.

Have you noticed any of these signs around your area recently?

๐Ÿ‡ Burgh Rabbit Control โ€“ Ferret Fact ๐Ÿ‡

Ferrets have been used for rabbit control for over 2,000 years, with their origins tracing back to ancient times for hunting and pest control.

Their natural instinct to explore burrows makes them ideal for flushing rabbits out of their warrens.

A ferret doesnโ€™t hunt the rabbit itselfโ€”it works by encouraging it to bolt, allowing it to be safely controlled above ground.

Even today, ferreting remains a trusted and effective traditional method of rabbit control.

๐Ÿ’ฌ A method thatโ€™s stood the test of time. Have you ever seen it in action?

๐Ÿ‡ Burgh Rabbit Control โ€“ Scottish Fact ๐Ÿ‡

Rabbits arenโ€™t actually native to Scotland โ€” they were introduced to Britain by the Normans in the 12th century, mainly for meat and fur.

Over time, they spread across the country and became firmly established in the wild.

๐ŸŒฟ Today, theyโ€™re part of the landscapeโ€”but without control, numbers can quickly get out of hand and cause serious damage to farmland and habitats.

๐ŸŽฏ Rabbit control in Scotland has a long history, from traditional ferreting and netting to modern, responsible hunting practices used today.

Itโ€™s not just about the huntโ€”itโ€™s about protecting land, crops, and maintaining balance.

๐Ÿ‡ Burgh Rabbit Control โ€“ Did You Know? ๐Ÿ‡

Rabbits might look harmless, but their impact on land can be serious. A single pair can produce up to 30โ€“40 offspring in a year, and before long, that small problem becomes a major issue for farmers, landowners, and even gardens.

๐ŸŒฑ Why control matters:
โœ” Prevents crop and grassland damage
โœ” Protects soil from burrowing and erosion
โœ” Keeps populations at sustainable levels

๐ŸŽฏ Responsible rabbit control isnโ€™t just about numbers โ€“ itโ€™s about balance, land management, and humane practice.

Weโ€™re out regularly during the season monitoring activity, reading the land, and ensuring control is done safely and effectively.

๐Ÿ“ If youโ€™ve noticed signs like fresh burrows, droppings, or grazed patches, it might be time to act and be added to our quickly growing list.

๐Ÿ’ฌ Have you spotted increased rabbit activity lately? Drop us a message โœ‰๏ธ

Us at Burgh Rabbit Control would like to thank each and every landowner who has this 25/26 season invited us on to their ground to control rabbit numbers.
Our season has been second to none, we enjoyed each and every trip out and it was a pleasure being able to help.
As this is our hobby more than anything, and as the breeding season for the rabbits approaches and even already in full swing in places we now stop untill October, preventing us culling any young or in young rabbits.

We look forward to getting back round everyone when the time comes,
If we would be of use to you in the 26/27 season get in touch with us its never early to get in contact.

For now every take care and all the best for the rest of the year ahead.

Thank you ๐Ÿค

Some pictures of your season added below.
