All Clippers,Blaster and Dryers need to breath, in other words, need airflow to work efficiently. Clippers, to cool them while they work. The blaster and dryers too, not only to cool them but produce hot air to dry your washed dog. This filter hiding under the thick layer of dog hair is the inner fine filter from a Double K blaster. The outer filter is regular cleaned but the inner one is missed. The potential problem that can occur is loss of effective blasting air and the blaster motor could seriously overheat, leading to costly premature failure.

This motor and PCB is from a Heiniger Saphire, it has been in a damp Grooming Salon. As you can see, there is evidence of corrosion on the motor, as I've encouraged in the past, try to isolate your vulnerable equipment. Take care of it now, and hopefully you can rely on it for many years to come.

Servicing is essential if you want a clipper to remain reliable throughout its life, this picture of a Heiniger Saphire is a popular choice among groomers, but it does have its problems, from faulty
PCBs, motor issues, and of course that irritating Blade Support issue. So take care of all your equipment, and with support from
YCTech, it will last the distance, and continue to provide you with an
income.

These two motors assemblies are from a Heiniger Saphire, the one on the left is damaged, the Carbon Brush's have worn away and damaged the Armature surface, and interestingly still worked. The one on the right is still OK. If your motor stops working correctly,
I've found that out of the Hundreds I've repaired/serviced over the years, I have only replaced @ 4 motors, down to the motor been worn out. There is a little servicing trick that solves the stop -start issue. Post your Clippers to us and we'll sort them out.

Here we have an Oster A6 Golden, full of dog hair, this highlights the need to service your clippers, and because of the type of material used for the motor housing, it can be prone to cracking if they are dropped.

In your salon or tack shed, for those who are equestrian, overly damp condition can cause the kind of damage seen in this picture. I have seen rust on a dog clipper which has been caused by the constant presence of v***r in the salon atmosphere, as a result poor ventilation, the temperature outside and dog washes. I would suggest, if possible, to remove vulnerable equipment to a more stable atmosphere at the end of your day. As a tip, buy a plastic box with a good lid, place your clippers into the box at the end of the day, and into that box you place a small container with either salt or baking soda, this medium will absorb any damp present in the plastic box, therefore protecting your clippers. In summer this may be less necessary, but winter it could prolong the life of your equipment.

This picture show a Simpson Dryer, and how
ineffective the single filter is, its a low density type, and because of this, it allows hair to be drawn through it, particularly if its not regularly cleaned. It took 1/2 hour to pull out all the hair. The motor was suffering from restricted airflow, which in turn allows heat to build excessively, leading to irreversible damage.

Here is another example of the need for servicing. Dog hair has made its way into the slide switch mechanism on a pair of Heiniger Saphir's, this could, if not removed, stop the switch from sliding fully forward, hence stopping the clipper from switching on. It can be a greater problem on Horse Clippers.

Have a look at the amount of hair around the armature in my previous post. By not servicing the clipper, the resulting heat build up can cause armature failure, as this photo reveals.
