I asked if you wanted a free Content Clinic… and you lot said YES. So here we go!

Right, you asked for it, so I’m making it happen. On 30th September, I’ll be at The Loft Coffee Shop for a fFREE 30-minute one-to-one Content Clinic sessions for small business owners who could do with a bit of help getting their social media sorted.

Maybe you’re staring at Instagram thinking what on earth am I supposed to post? Maybe you’re struggling to be consistent, creating loads of content but not seeing much come from it, or you’re just not sure whether what you’re doing is actually working. Whatever your content headache, bring it along.

There’s no homework, no complicated strategy document and definitely no need to prepare a presentation. Just grab a coffee, tell me what’s going on and we’ll spend 30 minutes figuring it out together.

I’ll bring my years of experience helping small businesses make their social media work harder, and hopefully you’ll leave with some clarity, some ideas and a much better idea of what to do next.

It’s completely free.

August round-up 🫶 Camp Bestival, saw Fat Boy Slim and danced in a field with my kids. Watched Bastille with my mate Joe Wicks, Dan Smith high-fived the kids, had to convince them to wash again. Went to Spain and read lots of books, drank the drinks and ate the foods, was glad to see my dog again.

August has been very much a down time for my business, but I’m raring to go again now.

If you’re a small business owner struggling with the ‘what do I post?’ quandary, why not try a monthly round-up?

A monthly round up is one of the easiest ways to stay consistent without constantly creating from scratch, you’re using content you’ve already created and showing your audience what they might have missed.

You are showing that you are active, in demand and sharing a little bit of that BTS gold-dust type content.

Open your phone, select a few August highlights, turn them into carousel or Reel, tag any relevant accounts and share away with a brief overview.

What did you get up to? Will you be turning it into easy peasy content?

Had a little break from creating content over the summer? Let’s get your content mojo back.

If your small business social media has been a bit quiet over the summer, you’re definitely not alone. Holidays, kids being off school and trying to keep the business running can easily push Instagram content to the bottom of the list.
But now September is here and you’re thinking - what am I actually going to post?

You don’t need to make up for everything you didn’t post. You don’t need to suddenly post every day or create a million Reels.

Start simple, talk about what’s happening in your business now? What are your customers asking? What are you working on? What do you know that could help your audience? That’s all great content.

If your small business content mojo has completely disappeared, come and join me for my FREE online Content Clinic at 10am on Monday 7th September. We’ll get you unstuck, generate some content ideas and help you feel confident about showing up on social media again.

It’s free, it’s online and it’s designed for small business owners.

Have you actually answered these 5 questions?

I haven’t posted today is not a content strategy.

Here’s what to do instead ➡️

Not everyone, not all small business owners and definitely not anyone who needs my services.

Think about one actual person you want this post to land with. What are they struggling with, what are they thinking about, what would make them stop scrolling?

Remember, content written for everyone usually ends up connecting with…nobody.

Before you create the post, decide what you want it to do.

Do you want them to think, ohhh, I hadn’t thought about it like that? Do you want them to feel, thank God someone else gets it?

What do you want them to do? Book a call, follow, comment. Remember the saying, chase two rabbits - catch none.

Your content doesn’t need to make people buy every time, not to ruin things for you but it absolutely won’t make people buy every time. But it should have a job, or you’re basically posting for the sake of posting, and we’ve got enough of that on Instagram already!

This one is sneaky, because yes, your audience wants to know what you had for breakfast.

But if your entire content strategy is now oat milk flat whites, your dog and the view from your walk… we might have wandered slightly off piste. Your content can absolutely be personal, in fact, personality is brilliant for building connection.

There absolutely still needs to be a reason people eventually think, this is the person I need for THAT.” Your content should help people understand what you do, how you think and why they should trust you.

Because you haven’t posted since last Tuesday isn’t a strategy. Ask yourself:

?Why does this need to be said?
?Is it educating your audience?
?Building trust?
?Showing your expertise?
?Starting a conversation?
?Sharing your personality?
?Promoting something?

If the answer is simply “I felt like I should post something”, step away from Canva. We don’t need another panic post.

Be brutally honest with yourself, if this appeared on your feed, would you stop?

Or would your thumb be halfway to the next reel before you’d even finished the first sentence? Does the opening make you curious? Does it sound like somet

You don’t need more content. You need better content, a proper strategy and a plan that doesn’t require you to practically move into Instagram.

What your business needs is a strategy, not your constant online presence.

If you’re tired of wondering what to post, second-guessing every caption and feeling like social media is another job you accidentally gave yourself… you need to take a look at Shine Online Club.

It’s where we take the overwhelm out of content creation, give you a strategy that actually makes sense and help you create content with purpose, without having to be online ALL THE TIME. If that sounds more like your kind of social media support, we’ll probably get on rather well.

Want in? Come and join Shine Online Club and let’s get your content working smarter, not harder. DM me SHINE and I’ll send you the details.
