Sometimes the most productive thing you can do first is nothing in particular.

This morning I sat in the conservatory with a couple of coffees, watched the rain, thought about very little and let the noise of the week settle.

A few hours later I headed out for a soggy 5.5 mile run and enjoyed every minute.

Sometimes we don’t need more discipline, motivation or productivity hacks.

Sometimes we just need a chance to recharge before pressing go again. ❤️🏃🏻‍♀️☕️🌧️

And just like that, May 2026 is in the books!

It’s been a big month for our North Yorkshire business community. We’ve navigated the first full month of the new MTD rules together, tidied up those post-April digital links, and (hopefully!) enjoyed a few bank holiday ice creams in the Leyburn sun.

At SJW Business Solutions, May has been all about transition. We’ve seen so many of our clients move from "technical tantrums" to "total control" over their digital accounts. Seeing that sigh of relief when a Xero dashboard finally makes sense is exactly why we do what we do.

As we head into June, ask yourself:
✅ Are my accounts giving me clarity or a headache?
✅ Am I running my business, or is my paperwork running me?
✅ Is it time to finally get that bespoke 'Pay Me' plan sorted?

Usually, you’ll find me buried in Xero dashboards or navigating the latest MTD updates at the office, but not today! 🙅‍

It is officially Bank Holiday in beautiful Leyburn, and I’m taking my own advice: Switching off the laptop and soaking up this North Yorkshire scenery.

The best part? Because we’ve spent the last few weeks getting our clients '2026-ready,' I can walk through the hills knowing their accounts are on a sound footing and their minds are as clear as this view.

Work hard, rest harder. That’s the SJW way.
