Apparently, small business owners spend around 30–35 HOURS a month on admin. 😳

That’s basically an entire working week every month spent on emails, invoices, diaries, spreadsheets and all those “I’ll just quickly do this…” jobs.

Let’s be realistic: they are never quick. 😂

Imagine what you could do with an extra working week every month if someone else handled the admin?

More clients? More money? More time off? Actually finishing work at a reasonable hour?! 👀

Well… July certainly kept me on my toes! ☀️

It’s been one of those months where I’ve looked at my to-do list, blinked… and somehow it’s suddenly the end of the month. 😅

I’m so grateful that not only have I been busy supporting my wonderful retainer clients, but I’ve also welcomed several ad hoc clients too. One of my favourite parts of this month has been helping business owners actually enjoy their holidays, knowing someone was keeping an eye on the emails, admin and all those little jobs waiting for them back home.

I’ve also added MailerLite services to what I offer, which has been really exciting. I love helping businesses communicate with their audience without the stress of figuring it all out themselves.

Of course, it hasn’t all been spreadsheets and emails. The summer holidays have meant juggling work with two little ones at home, squeezing meetings in around snack requests, toy explosions and plenty of playtime. Somehow, we’ve made it work! ❤️

And the biggest highlight of all? Watching my little boy celebrate his first birthday. I genuinely don’t know where that year has gone.

A huge thank you to every client who’s trusted me with their business this month. Your support means the world, and I never take it for granted.

"I always thought a Virtual Assistant was just someone who answered phones..."

It's one of the biggest misconceptions I hear.

So let's bust a few myths... 👇

❌ "A VA is only for big businesses."
Actually, most of my clients are small business owners and solopreneurs. They're wearing every hat in their business and simply need an extra pair of hands.

❌ "Hiring a VA is too expensive."
You only pay for the support you need. No holiday pay, pensions, National Insurance or office space. Just flexible support that fits your business. (If you sit down and work it out, a VA is actually cheaper 🫢)

❌ "It'll take longer to explain the task than do it myself."
Maybe the first time. But what about the second, third and fiftieth? Delegating repetitive tasks saves you hours in the long run.

❌ "I need someone in the office."
Not at all! Thanks to email, Zoom, cloud software and shared systems, I can support your business from wherever I am (even a caravan with a decent WiFi signal 😉).

❌ "A VA just does admin."

The biggest misconception of all?

Two years ago today, my little business officially became… well, an actual business. 🎉💛

The funny thing is, I’d already been doing the work for a while. But two years ago, I took the leap, made it official, and hoped that maybe, just maybe, someone would trust me to support their business.

Fast forward to today, and I honestly couldn’t be more grateful.

I’ve had the privilege of working with some incredible clients, helping businesses grow, building friendships along the way, and even better… some of those clients have been with me from day one. That kind of trust is something I’ll never take for granted.

Running a business isn’t always easy. There have been moments of self-doubt, late nights, and plenty of learning curves. But there have also been opportunities I never imagined, people I’ve loved working with, and a business I’m genuinely so proud to call mine.

To every client, supporter, person who’s liked a post, recommended me, or simply cheered me on… thank you. You’ve all played a part in getting me here.

Here’s to everything the last two years have taught me… and to whatever the next chapter brings. 🥂✨
