but in a way that you are not adopting someone else’s process; instead build on your own processes and hand it off to someone else or a tool to execute on your behalf.

Start by doing this

✨ Make documenting everything your new best friend

✨ Be a good communicator (within a team and client setting)

✨Put in time to work on the growth and future of your business

As a business owner who is focused on making money rather than growing their business and ensuring it’s sustainable in the long run, you try to get out of operations as soon as possible by using an OBM and adopt their processes because they say it’s good rather than building on your own so that you don’t need to spend time and effort to build your own.

Though it removes you from the operations side of your business which is what you want, it’s actually a sure fire way to stunt your growth.

The time between now and your next hire is closer than you think!

And you can start the process to hire support today!

Finally having someone onboarded and ready to work to support you is exciting but there are things to think about before that happens.

All of which you can start today.

Think about:

✅ What your communication methods and style will be.

How you communicate is a reflection of you and the culture of the business. This will either attract new hires or repel them (all before they even get started with you.

✅ What the vibe, dynamics and culture of the business will be like.

What sort of working environment are you trying to create.

What are your values and expectations?

This will allow the new hire also to see if they can actually see themselves working with you and vice versa.

✅ How much time you are willing to pour in, to growing, training and building your team.

Knowing the type of leader you are and want to be is important. If you wanna be a micromanager- goodluck to you if you have the energy for it.

And is not enough to kickstart the process of being organised to scale!

Sometimes a plot twist or a mishap is something that starts to work the gear in motion and that isn’t something you need right now either?

‌The one thing that can never be gotten back is time, but organising yourself can save you time, energy and wasted resources if done right. - which means you wouldn’t need to do much, if any, fire fighting in your business.

❓‌If your new hire were to join your business, will they know where certain processes are stored? Would they know how to access your brand information?

Being organised helps you feel confident in knowing where things are, how to find them, and where to store them for the time they are needed?

Is it in your content? Is it in showing up as an authority?

Is it in your team? IS IT YOU? Are you lacking as a CEO? its hard to pour into something if you are not filled yourself.

Do you have the skills to execute on the next phase of your biz. or is it your processes that are lacking?

It is clear you are are unsure of where you should be focusing and this may just be the reason why you remain as you were in Q1 going into Q2 too - eyes.

You want to be able to focus on being the CEO, and this looks like showing up for your clients, delivering on a service you have been paid to do

You want to focus on high level strategic decision and not on low level decisions that your VA’s should be able to deliver on by themselves.

They don’t know what you say or don’t say, who you would engage with, how you pitch something or any other form of languing

And your problem comes from your expectations and process

Having a clearly written process that cover what they need to know helps them do their job

There’s nothing like feeling liberated and at peace after feeling vulnerable as a business owner for a long time

Going through the motions of being a biz owner can be tiring and draining, since everything about the business starts and ends with you!

🤷🏽‍♀️Every decision that needs to be made requires your approval.

🤷🏽‍♀️Even when you are absent for a moment, you are still needed to make a decision or approval and you wish that it didn’t always need to fall on you to make choices

🤷🏽‍♀️You wish you could clone your thoughts and hand it over to someone to run with so you didn't have to- all the time!

🤷🏽‍♀️You wish you had written that ‘how to’ guide a long time ago so all the dependency on you will happen a lot less, making life and productivity that much better for everyone involved

I know!

👉🏾You want to be able to hand over the day to day operations to your team so you can be less of an implementer, doing all the tasks you have paid support for!

👉🏾Your plan is to finally function as the CEO and wear less of the hats that comes with the territory.

Becoming a CEO and running my own business was always a dream but it nearly didn’t come alive if this didn’t happen

Sometimes on days I either feel overwhelmed, burned out or on the flipside really happy and excited, I like to take a moment to reflect.

How did I manage to take this journey? Why am I still on this journey? Will I want to continue this journey?

And the truth is, it all lies in the expertise that I have and if I didn’t focus on that, becoming a CEO and running my business would not have happened.

I am not about gloating and boasting about who I am and what I have or even what I do, but sometimes, I really do need to let you know why and how I became the expert in the areas I focus on.

It really is OK to outsource! Sometimes, that is the difference between you moving ahead and getting to your destination, 6 months later than you would if you had just outsourced!

❔How will this service benefit me?
❔How soon will I see a return on my investment?
❔What if this investment isn't for me?
❔How do I know if this is the right time or not?

I had these questions too, but I always circled back to why I went into business in the first place and was the reason enough for me to push through and invest?

I am not ready to start creating SOPs in my business 🤷🏽‍♀️

I know you said this from a place of fear...but Imagine this for a second

How much greater would your team and business as a whole operate with clearer processes? And not having you breathing down their neck and micro managing them every 5 minutes?

The truth is, you do not need to STOP being the leader, CEO, Boss, if you micromanage less!

Processes are not there to slow your business down, or even slow you down on the path of success. It’s quite the opposite!

It is there to:

✅Give direction

✅Highlight areas of improvement


I know you have a fear of SOPs because you:

❌Unsure on what format it should be in

❌Unsure of the SOPs you need in your business

❌Don’t think you will be able to create what you think is an appropriate form of SOP

❌Don’t think your business is ready for it

I know I am not the only one to think about the things I would do differently if I could start my business over!

We always end the year with a few goals for the new year, and crossing over into 2023 was no different for me. I definitely welcomed the year with mannyyyyyy goals! personal and biz!

While I reflected on my business and how it went in 2022, the question rang in my mind,- If you had to start your business again, what would you focus on?

First of all, I was like, I am nearly 3 years deep in this game! At the point we are at in business, it may not be wise to start again, but YOU CAN START where you are now that will move me to where you wanna be. That being said, I wanna cover a few things we should do more of and focus on
