We're pleased to announce a new partnership with SafeContractor, the UK's largest SSIP-registered and UKAS-accredited provider of supply chain risk management.

Pareto works with more than 1,500 contractors to deliver facilities management, engineering, compliance and workplace solutions across the UK. Through SafeContractor, we will introduce a consistent, risk-based framework for assessing and monitoring contractor compliance. This will give our teams clearer visibility across the supply chain and a structured way to put our health and safety policies and Supplier Code of Conduct into practice daily.

We're pleased to welcome Steph Kendall to Pareto as Chief Operating Officer, adding more than 20 years of operational leadership experience to our senior team.

Steph joins us following a career that has taken her from Facilities Manager through to executive leadership across the public and private sectors, including major public sector contracts and senior roles supporting large-scale FM businesses in the UK and internationally.

As Chief Operating Officer, Steph will work across Pareto and Sowga, supporting operational teams and helping ensure the business continues to deliver consistently for customers as it grows.

On the 26th February, we hosted an insightful in-person event on London’s economic outlook, opportunities and resilience, in conjunction with the IWFM London Region and HSBC.

Joined by fellow facilities management and built environment professionals, we heard from Emma Wilks, who shared insights on:

- The health of the UK economy
- The path for interest rates and the labour market
- The impact of government policy decisions

One striking takeaway was the scale of wage growth in the UK. Over the past five years, the UK has seen the highest salary growth globally, with minimum wage rising by 46% since 2020. For people-intensive sectors like facilities management, this has significantly increased the cost of service delivery.

At the same time, many organisations have not increased prices at the same rate as wage growth, putting pressure on already tight margins across the sector.
