Pareto Appoints Will Metcalfe as CEO

Pareto is making a change to its leadership team. Will Metcalfe has stepped up into the role of CEO from his role as COO. He brings extensive senior experience in facilities management and engineering and will be leading the business through its next phase of growth.

Our vision is clear: to be the UK's leading workplace engineering partner, built on a culture of high performance and values-led delivery, powered by people who genuinely care and technology that is ahead of the curve.

"This is a business I believe in, and I’m stepping into the role at an exciting point in our journey.

What excites me most is the opportunity to build on the strong foundations already in place. We have talented people, deep technical expertise and long-standing client relationships that have been earned through consistently delivering high standards.

My focus is on creating the environment for our teams to do their best work, continuing to strengthen our capabilities, and ensuring we remain a trusted partner for our clients as their needs evolve.

What’s always stood out to me about Pareto is the quality of the people and the standards teams set for themselves every day. We have a leadership team with strong engineering and operational experience, a clear focus on delivery and a practical understanding of what clients expect from a modern workplace partner.”
Will Metcalfe - Chief Executive Officer

For our clients, your account management teams remain unchanged, and we are fully committed to delivering on our promises and remaining aligned to our values.

On the 26th February, we hosted an insightful in-person event on London’s economic outlook, opportunities and resilience, in conjunction with the IWFM London Region and HSBC.

Joined by fellow facilities management and built environment professionals, we heard from Emma Wilks, who shared insights on:

- The health of the UK economy
- The path for interest rates and the labour market
- The impact of government policy decisions

One striking takeaway was the scale of wage growth in the UK. Over the past five years, the UK has seen the highest salary growth globally, with minimum wage rising by 46% since 2020. For people-intensive sectors like facilities management, this has significantly increased the cost of service delivery.

At the same time, many organisations have not increased prices at the same rate as wage growth, putting pressure on already tight margins across the sector.
