Job description:

We are currently seeking a Caretaker in London to work at a school. The ideal candidate would be a caretaker who lives close by to the site location, or is willing to relocate to a premises close by.

Assignment:

Role: Caretaker
Client: Earlsmead Primary School
Location: Earlsmead Primary School, Broad Lane, Tottenham, London N15 4PW

Schedule:

Monday: 9AM - 2PM
Tuesday: 9AM - 2PM
Wednesday: 9AM - 2PM
Thursday: 9AM - 2PM
Friday: 9AM - 2PM

Duties, but not limited to:

1. Lock / unlock the school; Carry out security checks on the building
2. Carry out and record statutory checks and help maintain Health and Safety records
3. Maintenance of property and grounds to a high standard including liaising with contractors
4. Monitor site stock and order supplies
5. Carry out DIY above and beyond the scope of a competent DIY person, completing more specialist work as required.
6. Willingness to attend training courses including Health and Safety
7. To be responsible for regular checking and testing of fire alarm and emergency lighting
8. Checking heating and water systems
9. Regularly checking and ensuring the condition and safety of tools
10. To ensure that external areas, paths and drives remain free from litter and hazardous material and that drains and gullies are free flowing and clean as appropriate
11. To ensure that pathways are clear of snow and apply salt when required, keeping records of this action
12. Liaising with other members of the Site Network team on a regular basis to ensure suitable handover of tasks.
13. Be available for lettings outside of regular school hours and also emergency call outs if necessary.

Gloves (Provided by the company)
Casual Formal Attire / Yet comfortable
Please note the dress code may change depending on the clients needs.

Required Experience:

At least 1 year's experience in the cleaning industry, ideally in a school. If not, your application will still be considered.

Requirement from the cleaner:

Enhanced DBS check made within the last 3-years. (A valid DBS on the DBS update service. Proof must be provided by applicants. These can be obtained by previous employers. We cannot hire for a school, without a valid DBS Check.)
