Congratulations to our partner Chef Michael Rafidi and the Yellow team for their latest venue opening in the heart of Union Market District, Washington DC!

Building on the success of the celebrated Navy Yard restaurant Albi—earning Chef Rafidi a Micheline star in 2022 as well as the James Beard Award for Outstanding Chef—this latest outpost will continue to draw from the chef’s Palestinian heritage to deliver a winning blend of Levantine classics and local favourites.

As well as twice-baked za’atar-labne croissants, a coffee station that transitions into a natural wine bar, and some the areas best specialty coffee, Yellow will offer a mouthwatering nighttime kebab menu to those in and around the Northeast DC area.

Without giving all our secrets away, below are a few insider tips on developing the perfect summer drinks menu.

- Lead with Hero Cocktails – Every F&B concept deserves its own signature cocktail range, showcasing unique brand style and personality.

- Make it Aesthetic – The right kind of glassware, colour and garnish presentation add a huge amount of appeal to a beverage menu.

- Ice Choice Matters – The kind of ice used in drinks greatly impact appearance, quality and overall experience. Oversized ice balls dilute slower and are great for drinks made for sipping, like Negroni, while Mojitos, for example, are great as crushed ice blends during summer.
