A unique number for one of England's most iconic players. 🇬🇧

Paul Gascoigne was officially recognised as England Legacy Number 1006 when the Football Association introduced its chronological numbering system to mark the national team's 1,000th international in 2019.

These two lots commemorate that achievement: a red velvet Football Association Legacy cap, inscribed 1006 and named to Gascoigne, and a white-metal presentation salver engraved with his name, Legacy Number 1006, and the date of England's 1,000th international.

Each is accompanied by a signed England v Montenegro programme from the historic occasion, and the cap also includes a Royal Box ticket.

From the Old Trafford clock that became a symbol of remembrance. 🔴

This original MUNICH sign was removed from the base of Manchester United’s iconic memorial clock, from the 1976 design installed on the Main Stand.

The clock stood alongside the Munich memorial, marking 6th February 1958 and the tragedy that changed Manchester United forever. The 1976 version remained on the Main Stand until the mid-1990s, when redevelopment ahead of Euro 96 saw the structure relocated.

The sign comes with an extraordinary piece of provenance: the vendor’s family were lifelong United supporters, while a family friend worked for Smiths, the Derby-based clock company responsible for the clock.

The shirt, worn as Wimbledon made FA Cup history. 🏆

This rare yellow and black No.1 shirt is believed to have been worn by Dave Beasant in the 1988 FA Cup Final, where Wimbledon defeated heavily favoured Liverpool 1-0 at Wembley.

As captain, Beasant played a defining role, becoming the first goalkeeper to save a penalty in an FA Cup Final when he denied John Aldridge. Lawrie Sanchez’s 38th-minute goal proved enough to secure Wimbledon’s first major trophy.

Before the words became legendary, there was this sign. 🔴

This is the original iconic “THIS IS ANFIELD” sign, first hung in Liverpool’s players’ tunnel in 1972 during the Bill Shankly era.

It remained in place far longer than previously believed - photographic evidence shows it in the tunnel from 1977 to 1979, meaning it was there as Liverpool won their first two European Cups and three further First Division titles.

Removed from Anfield in 1979, it was gifted by former player and manager Roy Evans to former Liverpool boys’ player Ron Wilson. It remained on display in the Wilson family’s hotel in Douglas for more than 20 years before passing to Ron’s children.
