🔥 Help Us Prevent Wildfires 🔥

During this warm, dry weather, the risk of wildfire in our grounds increases-especially as our grasslands are left to grow naturally to support local wildlife 🌿

We’re asking all visitors to please take extra care:

🚮 Dispose of all rubbish responsibly

🚬 Fully extinguish ci******es

🍾 Recycle all glass bottles and containers

Even small actions can make a big difference in protecting our grounds and the wildlife that call it home.

If you see a fire, please dial 999 immediately and report it to a member of staff.

Thank you for helping us keep our space safe for everyone 💚

🐞🌼 Insect Week is here! 🌼🐞

https://www.insectweek.org/

We’re taking a moment to celebrate some of the incredible insects that call our site home 🧡

From the impressive stag beetle spotted up close (look at those jaws!), to the familiar cockchafer beetle in the grass, and the delicate pollinator visiting our wildflowers - these small creatures play a big role in keeping our environment healthy 🌍✨

Insects help to pollinate plants, recycle nutrients, and support the wider ecosystem - and our green spaces provide vital habitats for them to thrive 🌱

This Insect Week, we’re proud to support biodiversity on site and encourage everyone to take a closer look at the tiny wildlife all around them 👀

💡 Why not see what you can spot in your own green space?

As Father's Day comes to a close, take a moment to reflect on how you celebrated the special men in your life. Whether it was a heartfelt message, a family gathering, or simply sharing a favorite memory, these moments matter.

Remember, it's not just about the grand gestures; the small acts of love and appreciation can mean the world. Embrace the joy and connection that comes from honoring your father or father figure, and carry those memories with you as you move forward.

Let us know in the comments how you remembered your loved one.

🌳 Tree Feature: Whitebeam 🌳

The Whitebeam (Sorbus aria) is a beautiful native tree, known for its distinctive leaves-green above with a silvery-white underside that shimmers in the breeze ✨

In spring, it produces clusters of white flowers for pollinators, followed by red berries later in the year that support local wildlife 🐝🍂

Tough and resilient, whitebeam thrives in a range of conditions, making it a valuable and low-maintenance addition to our grounds 🌿

Today, we pause to reflect on those we hold close in our hearts. In the quiet beauty of our woodland spaces, surrounded by trees and wildflowers, their memory lives on, woven into every breeze and every moment of stillness.

For those who are missing their dad this Father’s Day, may you find comfort in reflection, remembrance, and the enduring love that never fades. 💚

Meet the team:

Sara - Funeral service operative & Conductor

I’ve worked in the industry for several years, but Hinton Park has a special place in my heart. The grounds are beautiful, and I love being surrounded by the wildlife - from the birds and deer to the geese and their goslings in spring.

I take real pride in my role and in supporting the families we care for. I particularly enjoy conducting, especially when I’ve been involved from the very beginning and can see the whole process through after bringing their loved one into our care.

Outside of work, I’m happiest outdoors. My dogs and horses keep me busy and make sure life is always full of energy.

🌿 Flower Feature: Purple Toadflax🌿

Adding height and soft movement to our planting areas, these elegant blooms are Purple Toadflax (Linaria purpurea) 💜

Recognised by their tall, upright stems and clusters of small, delicate, snapdragon-like flowers, purple toadflax brings a light, airy feel as it weaves naturally through surrounding plants 🌾

A firm favourite with wildlife, these flowers provide a valuable source of nectar for bees and other pollinators throughout the summer months 🐝

As with many of the flowers across our site, these have self-seeded over time, gradually spreading and establishing themselves in different areas. Purple toadflax is particularly good at doing this, creating natural drifts that enhance the relaxed, meadow-style feel of the grounds 🌱

Its ability to thrive with minimal intervention makes it an important part of supporting biodiversity, while adding colour and structure to the landscape year after year 🌿

Keep an eye out as you explore-these vibrant purple spikes often appear in new spots, adding something a little different each season 💚
