A remarkable and wise man. We once attended a mindfulness meditation he led on a busy Saturday in Trafalgar Square. When life seems chaotic, his encouragement to focus on the calm and simple things has helped so many people.

Thich Nhat Hanh, who set up meditation centres around the world, died on Saturday in Vietnam.

Here's a look back at the life of the father of Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Aaron Beck, who has died at the age of 100.
He and his contemporary Albert Ellis have certainly influenced my own approach.

It was an answer to Freudian analysis: a pragmatic, thought-monitoring approach to treating anxiety, depression and other mental disorders, and it changed psychiatry.

If you know someone who can never admit they are wrong, who always finds fault but never gives praise, you may be wondering if they are a narcissist. Well, this is a good little test: ask them in what ways they think they need to grow or change. If they react by being baffled or angry, that's a red flag.
