“Logan Fyn (he/they) is a filmmaker and programmer. Logan’s films often linger on the rhythms of everyday life, using small yet deliberate details to reveal bigger threads, inviting audiences to recognise something of themselves onscreen.

As the co-founder of the QFN, my mission is to keep defying the industry’s systemic barriers and open up spaces for q***r creatives to feel inspired and reinvigorated by our community. At the heart of it all, I wanted to help spark a sense of genuine connection and belonging.”

To conclude our meet the team posts, we wanted to also reintroduce the amazing co-founders of QFN, Luke Oliveira-Davies ✨

“Luke Oliveira-Davies (he/him) is an artist, filmmaker and producer championing q***r and underrepresented lives through film and TV. His work so far includes ‘Stranger in My Family’ (BBC Three and various BAFTA & BIFA-qualifying short films, and is built on a belief that what we see reflected on screen shapes what we believe we can become.

As co-founder of the Q***r Filmmakers Network, I feel an immense sense of pride in what we’ve built. I believe it’s our duty as humans sharing this planet to advocate for one another, especially for those of us who are marginalised. That’s what drives the work: creating a space where q***r creatives can find each other, and know they’re not fighting alone.”

Welcoming Liliane Kaufman-Hill who’s been managing our social media & PR 📱📸

“Liliane Kaufman-Hill (she/her) is an independent filmmaker who predominantly focuses on telling q***r and trans stories. She has a strong passion for community building and working to create healthier environments for production crew.

Being a part of the QFN team has been a delightful experience. Working with the team and its members to help platform meaningful events and amazing pieces of work will never cease to be rewarding and I hope to continue to help platform and support q***r filmmakers across the UK.”

“Will Steele (he/they) Is a freelance filmmaker, facilitator and programmer. Based in the North-West, Will’s practice has been dedicated to championing unsung stories and histories, celebrating heritage, q***rness, and community.

Being a part of the Q***r Filmmakers Network team is a joy, to work across the country to bring q***r filmmakers together to collaborate and to connect. If anything, I want our network to be a hub where artists can find how their identity shapes their voice, and how our community can amplify and enrich the stories we put on screen.”

Introducing Rowan Allen to the QFN team 📽️🎟️

We’re delighted to welcome Rowan who’s been working with us on screenings and future events ✨

“Rowan Allen (they/she) is a writer, script editor and sound artist. Her work explores the intersections of desire, identity and society, and champions stories told from marginalised perspectives.

I was touched to be asked to join the QFN committee
as it’s been a consistent beacon of hope and solidarity for me during an incredibly rough time for the film & TV industry. I hope to help build on its successes so far to create even more opportunities for connection, support and success for q***r filmmakers across the country.”

Thu, June 25 | 5:00 PM – 11:00 PM
Basement Level, Canon Lounge – Neon194 Piccadilly, W1J 9LN

There is step-free access through two sets of double doors at the entrance and a lift between the ground floor and basement level. The room is quite large and there will be a DJ playing for most of the event so we anticipate that it’ll probably be quite loud, though there IS air conditioning and plenty of seating so it should at least be a reprieve from the heat!

We’ll monitor the volume and attendee comfort levels throughout and reduce (volume, not comfort) if needed. If you have any more specific access needs or questions please feel free to DM us 🙂‍↕️
