PAI is running our annual workshop on Putting People First: Practical ways of improving customer service this October from the 9 to 13 in London. This workshop will give you a comprehensive overview of customer service from a strategic, tactical and operational viewpoint.

• Giving you a sound understanding of how to define your customers’ needs, improve customer service and handle complaints effectively
• Helping you to enhance your organisation’s reputation for being customer-focused
• Providing you with practical advice about how to engage your staff and colleagues and motivate them to meet customers’ needs
• Adopting a participative approach so that you can engage with our Workshop Director and with each other to gain maximum benefit
• Including group exercises to fix key techniques and theoretical concepts firmly in real-life circumstances
• Assisting you in developing a personal action plan for implementation once back to work.

During the week you will be introduced to the Balanced Scorecard for customer service delivery, how to apply PESTLE, SWOT and Force Field Analysis analytical tools to organisational issues, GAP analysis, A:B analysis, focus groups, process improvement, customer service standards and how to handle customers’ complaints.

Leading and Managing for Results

Public servants aren’t motivated by profit but how they can deliver the best services for their citizens and do the most good. Leadership capability is crucial to the delivery of public services and to building an efficient and effective organisation fit for today and for the future.

PAI is running a two-week modular professional development workshop Leading and Managing for Results in London starting on 25 September. It is comprises two stand-alone programmes, High Impact Leadership: Creating real value in public services and Advanced People Engagement Skills: Getting the best out of your people that can be taken as a two-week programme or individually as one-week workshops. https://zurl.co/vdsh

Week one, High Impact Leadership: Creating real value in public services, will explore the capabilities that leaders need to make an impact in the changing arena of the public service. You will learn about approaches that have been successful and will review international examples of good practice, including practical exercises and case studies from practitioners. https://zurl.co/05I2

Week two, Advanced People Engagement Skills: Getting the best out of your people, will equip you with a suite of advanced management skills to help you face the many challenges of day-to-day management. During the week, you will undertake a Myers Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) psychometric assessment. The assessment will provide you with feedback on how you interact with your staff, allowing you to improve your interpersonal skills in people management. Over the past decades, digital technologies have been profoundly transforming all sectors of the economy and – even more broadly – whole societies.

As new technologies emerge, the public sector has the opportunity to innovative in its interactions with citizens and businesses. To address the needs of our clients we have introduced three new workshops this year for policy makers and leaders who need to plan and implement strategies for transforming the work of the public sector.

Innovating in the Public Sector runs from 4 to 8 September 2023 in London and is designed as an integrated experiential one week “Policy/Innovation Laboratory" where the latest theories, models, innovation tools, processes and best practices are presented and immediately applied to “real life” situations (brought by you, the participants) in order to develop new perspectives, insights and possibilities.

Speaking yesterday at the Slynn Foundation’s Open Forum, Ukraine’s Prosecutor General, Andriy Kostin, expressed his support for establishing an International Centre for the Prosecution of the Crime of Aggression as the most legitimate response towards Russia’s impunity for war crimes in Ukraine. Other speakers at the Forum were the Attorney General, Victoria Prentis KC, the UK’s former Ambassador to Ukraine, Simon Smith CMG, and the Ukraine Supreme Court President, Stanislav Kravchenko.

Jazzy turned 30 this week, which is a great age for a horse. Claire Cameron, one of PAI’s Directors and owner of Jazzy, was as pleased as punch if this photo is anything to go by.
