Who are Level Developments?
Level Developments is a world leader in the design, manufacture and assembly of mechanical and electronic angle measuring products. We undertake the full design and manufacturing process at our business units in Croydon and we sell our products across the world. We are a small business (70 people), but with a strong history of growth and a firm plan for future expansion.
What is this role?
Due to increasing orders and investment in new CNC machinery we are looking to recruit further CNC machinists to join our team. You will be responsible for setting and operating CNC lathes and milling machines. Preparing materials and tooling for upcoming jobs, loading and operating machines to meet desired quantities, conducting in-process inspection and checking against drawings and specifications to ensure they are made accurately and to the highest standards.
The work is varied with small and medium-size batches in a variety of materials. With training and support, you will have the opportunity to learn to set our full range of machines, from vertical milling centres to sliding head lathes.
We are looking for candidates who are able to grow and learn, and ultimately take on additional responsibilities to support the production engineering, planning, efficiency and smooth running of this vital department.
We operate two shifts between 7am-10pm, ie. 7am-3pm and 2pm-10pm.
Who is the ideal candidate?
To be considered, you must have:
Ideally, 2 years of previous experience working with CNC machines.
A passion for making high quality, high precision products.
An understanding of engineering drawings, tolerances and manufacturing work instructions.
An understanding of measuring equipment and inspection techniques.
Good level of IT literacy, including MS Windows and Office.
