I often meet people who are stepping into leadership for the first time and quietly wondering if they are doing enough.

presents a fantastic opportunity to join the legend that is Harry Redknapp for dinner- yes he shall be making an appearance especially for us in Cardiff during the World Cup:

With his rich history as a football player playing alongside Sir Bobby Moore and manager of clubs which included West Ham, Tottenham Hotspurs and QPR he can share more than a tale or two about football.

Nearly 3 million pounds raised.........a real story

One of the things I love about is the amount of funds that has been raised for charity and charitable causes.
As a business consultant assisting businesses for social causes this aligns closely with my own values.

Ian Stafford the founder is committed to this and there is usually a nominated charity highlighted at the celebrity events, sometimes supported by an auction of which some are silent auctions led by

Ambassadors and their leading charities whom have been supported include:-

✨Gary Lineker- Cure Leukaemia
✨Graeme Souness- DEBRA UK
✨Cardiac Arrest in the Young (CRY)
and many more.....

Whilst local charities include our members and Collective UK Charity, so it was no surprise to see the recent support for members Sports Chaplaincy UK & Ireland.

Chaplains Martin and Heather Lewis who cover Wales were invited to share their mission at our recent members lunch. They shared how they will continue support across all sports clubs across the country. This is to ensure chaplaincy support is provided for all players in need and the desire to access more clubs with their voluntary support.

On behalf of The Sports Chaplaincy Wales- Ian Stafford thank you for your support from The Sporting Club. The funds raised / donated at the members lunch. It is appreciated and will make a difference to players in need.

"All you need is love and a cup of tea"

That is the message from Sarah Jones and Samantha Othen at Mindful Munch Cafe - it is displayed prominently on the wall for all to see.

They are a great example of the need for tenacity in business. I met them both over a year ago and we kept in touch. At the time Sarah had a dream to have a cafe to support people with mental wellbeing and wellness. Offering people the chance to have a cuppa and a chat, do group sessions and workshops and just connect with others if lonely. She shared this dream with Samantha and they both teamed up and set out on their mission.

There was so many obstacles in the way, planning permissions, red tape and maintenance but alas a year later they have made it. With an official launch at the end of March 2026 the Mindful Munch Cafe was born.

Always wanting to support these (and other) budding social entrepreneurs I made time in my schedule and popped in for a coffee (steered clear of the cake as tempting as it was) and brought Andrew Jenkins with me.

I have to really admire their sheer grit and tenacity in making this happen as new business owners and invite you all to visit for coffee and cake in Cwmbran South Wales. Unfortunately Sarah wasn't there when I visited as she is about to have her baby so all photos feature Sam. Its is the perfect spot for also being outdoors so if you have a wellbeing activity with thirsty participants then speak to them or in need of love and a cup of tea.

At the intersection of GRC and Social Values…….

Is where you will find me

That's (GRC) Governance Risk and Compliance and ESG whilst it's a frequently overlooked area it is an area that is crucial as highly damaging and could be the downfall of your business. It affects the business reputation and credibility, plus impacts trust amongst stakeholders and customers.

Even more crucially in the areas I work in for social causes, business contingency, business continuity planning and managing risk all have to be in place before business starts.Fit for purpose at the outset

All business requires good governance, even more so in social cause business when you are working with vulnerable groups, the need to keep them safe, security, inclusion, safeguarding, managing data and privacy as well as complying with regulators and compliance is all key and relevant to building revenue or securing funding and future proofing your business.

I am pleased that the crucial work I do has again been recognised by champions in this space Women in Governance, Risk and Compliance Series and

I have not only been a speaker at many of their conferences but moderated panels of speakers on this matter.
