As the weekend begins, we're taking a look back at key moments from last week’s state visit:

Nigeria’s return to Windsor Castle and the week of activities across the country celebrating the state visit after nearly four decades marked a clear reset in its engagement with the UK - direct, deliberate, and focused on results.

Across the engagements, one point stood out: progress depends on ex*****on. As our CEO, Dorothea Hodge CBE, said on Business Africa Online (BAO), commitments only matter when they lead to tangible outcomes.

Florence Eshalomi MP, the Prime Minister’s Trade Envoy to Nigeria and Ghana, brought together business leaders for focused, practical discussion.

At the Park Plaza UK–Nigerian Business Reception, conversations moved beyond headlines into the details that shape real outcomes.

Mo Abudu of EbonyLife Group was also present at Windsor Castle, representing African storytelling at the highest level.

With over 200,000 Nigerians in the UK, the diaspora remains a vital link between both economies.

We were present. The focus now is delivery.

BIG NEWS!

Our founder Dorothea Hodge has been awarded a CBE in The New Year Honours List for parliamentary and political services.

For more than 30 years, Dorothea has been opening doors and making sure the voices that need to be heard the loudest actually reach the people who can make change happen.

From securing £70 million in hurricane relief for Anguilla to championing environmental justice in the Niger Delta, from supporting women entrepreneurs across Africa to advising heads of state and international organisations, her work has always been about one thing: real, lasting impact for the communities that need it most.

As she puts it: "Public service has always been about ensuring that the corridors of power remain accessible to those who need to be heard the most."
This honour celebrates not just one remarkable career, but the collective strength of everyone working towards a more equitable world.

As women’s economic power reshapes markets worldwide, closing the gender finance gap is critical to shared prosperity. We proudly helped launch AFAWA at the G7, tackling the 42 billion dollar financing gap for African women entrepreneurs. With champions like Angélique Kidjo and partners like the African Development Bank we amplified women's voices at the G7 and beyond fueling inclusive economic empowerment.

Global conflict levels are highest since end of Second World War. A report published by the Institute of Economics & Peace captures a world on the brink, with the current world order in flux. Fragile states face immense challenges and we have stood with 19 of the most conflict-affected countries to reshape the International Dialogue on Peace-building and State-building.

From 2016 - 2021, we crafted narratives and hosted key global events elevating the voices of those striving for peace. We helped rebrand the dialogue and secure media coverage, building a framework benefiting 1.5 billion people.

Together we keep hope alive that peace is achievable not only in the middle east but throughout the world.
