20th/21st Century Art | Catalogue Now Online
Thursday 28 May, 14:00

Featured in the upcoming sale is Phoenix (1955) by Paul Jenkins, a striking example of the artist’s celebrated poured abstractions.

Painted in vibrant, luminous layers of flowing colour, the work demonstrates Jenkins’s distinctive approach to abstraction, balancing control and spontaneity through his manipulation of liquid paint on canvas.

Exhibited internationally shortly after it was painted, Phoenix comes with distinguished provenance and stands as an important example of post-war American abstraction.
