Our October Prints & Multiples auction takes place tomorrow, with one final opportunity to explore the sale in person at the Barley Mow Centre.

Pictured is Lucian Freud’s Bella in her Pluto T-shirt (1995), a remarkable etching depicting the artist’s daughter, Bella Freud, seated in a rattan chair. Signed with initials and numbered 7/36, the work captures Freud’s meticulous approach to portraiture, with densely worked lines revealing both his extraordinary attention to detail and the intimacy of the father-daughter relationship.

The sale also features an impressive selection of modern and contemporary prints, including David Hockney’s Pool Made with Paper and Blue Ink for Book (1980), Bridget Riley’s Serpentine Print (1999) and Ellsworth Kelly’s Red Curve (2006).

Silver & Objects of Vertu | Wednesday 14 October, 11:00
Sale Reminder

Our October Silver & Objects of Vertu auction takes place this Wednesday, with just two days remaining to explore the sale in person at the Barley Mow Centre.

Among the highlights is this remarkable pair of George II sterling silver salts by Paul de Lamerie, London, 1739, one of the most celebrated English silversmiths of the 18th century.

Raised on lion paw feet with lion mask details, each salt features a finely chased rosette rim, gilt interior and engraved coat of arms for the Hasell and Musgrave families.

Commissioned for Edward Hasell and Julia Musgrave, the pair adds to the known group of silver made by de Lamerie for the Hasell family of Dalemain, Cumbria, during the 1730s.

Silver & Objects of Vertu | Wednesday 14 October

A masterclass in silver from Bhuj.

Pictured is this impressive Anglo-Indian silver salver by Oomersi Mawji Jnr, made in Cutch, Bhuj around 1900. Weighing over 1.3kg, the large circular tray is richly chased with intricate rosettes and scrolling foliage, with a central cartouche bearing an engraved crest.

A striking example of the highly skilled silverwork for which Bhuj became celebrated, it features in our forthcoming Silver & Objects of Vertu auction this October.
