It’s always inspiring to witness nature gently waking, even while winter still lingers. The exquisite blooms of Helleborus and Magnolia remind us that seasonal transitions can be the most poetic moments in the garden 🌿

The star-like blossoms of Magnolia unfold against bare branches; soft, luminous, and quietly spectacular, creating a sculptural silhouette in the winter light.

Below, the elegant, nodding flowers of Helleborus (Christmas roses) bring depth and refinement. Resilient and architectural, they thrive in the cold, offering texture, tone, and understated drama when little else dares to bloom.

For professional garden designers and landscape architects, winter planting is not an afterthought; it’s a strategy. It’s about layering structure, anticipating succession, and ensuring that a space performs beautifully in every season.

Winter planting isn’t about waiting for spring.
It’s about designing for year-round presence, rhythm, and experience ✨

Society of Garden and Landscape Designers (SGLD) Awards 2026 Ceremony 🌿

Another glamorous awards evening, set in a landmark hotel. We were proud that our project, Archway, Islington, was shortlisted and named a finalist in the Planting Design category — one of our strongest areas as a studio.

While we didn’t take home the award this year, it was a real privilege to be among such talented designers. The evening was a wonderful chance to reconnect with old friends, meet new faces, and celebrate the incredible work across our industry. Huge congratulations to all the winners — truly inspiring work. Whatever the result, it was a night to enjoy and be proud of 💚

Thank you to London Stone for the kind invitation and to SGD the_sgld for a fabulous ceremony ✨

Delight in the Details ✨

In this project, we designed a green vertical wall with scented climbers to soften the house façade and elegantly disguise unsightly pipes. 🌿✨

When outdoor space is limited, the smartest approach is to plant upwards. Vertical greening transforms plain walls into vibrant living features that shift with the seasons – adding depth, colour, and life to even the most compact spaces.

🌸 From fragrant jasmine and colourful clematis to hardy evergreens, climbers deliver a wealth of benefits:
• Environmental: cleaner air, natural insulation, and reduced heat.
• Aesthetic: softened architectural lines, seasonal colour, and textural variety.
• Ecological: habitats for pollinators, increased biodiversity, and a healthier urban ecosystem.

Whether supported by a trellis, wire system, or pergola, vertical planting offers a striking yet sustainable design solution – perfect for balconies, courtyards, and modern urban gardens.

As summer fades, autumn paints our gardens and landscapes with rich tones of gold, copper, and crimson. It’s the season of texture, structure, and soft light — where ornamental grasses glow, seed heads add sculptural beauty, and fallen leaves create natural mulch.

🍂 Autumn is also a time of renewal:

Planting new trees and shrubs while the soil is still warm.

Dividing perennials to strengthen displays for next year.

Adding bulbs for a burst of spring colour.

Whether you’re designing, planting, or simply enjoying, autumn reminds us of the beauty in change and the promise of growth to come.

If you’re looking for inspiration, ideas, or a professional touch, we can help bring seasonal beauty and year-round structure to your outdoor space.

Welcoming autumn’s golden glow and gently waving goodbye to summer’s sweet embrace 🍂

This past season gifted us so many unforgettable moments — none more special than our RHS show garden Three Graces of Galicia. 💫

The garden captured hearts with its celebration of three remarkable Spanish/Galician writers, their stories delicately interwoven through design. Romantic pastel plantings, layered textures, and a dreamy atmosphere came together to create a space that felt both timeless and poetic.

As the seasons turn, we carry those luminous summer memories with us — letting them inspire new beginnings in autumn’s rich light.

Saying Goodbye to The Three Graces of Galicia 🌿

Saying goodbye to our show gardens is always bittersweet. After countless hours spent designing, sourcing the finest materials and plants, and installing, these gardens truly become part of us.

We’re overjoyed that our multisensory garden, The Three Graces of Galicia, touched the hearts of so many visitors and captured the admiration of the media.

It was a true honour to showcase this creation once again, alongside our wonderful sponsors, Axencia Turismo de Galicia and Spain.

Thank you so much to all our suppliers, volunteers, visitors, and followers for your amazing support.

Garden Highlights:

• Tribute to Three Galician Icons: A moving homage to 19th-century luminaries—Rosalía de Castro, Emilia Pardo Bazán, and Concepción Arenal—celebrating their powerful legacies in poetry, literature, naturalism, and social justice.

• Immersive Design: Romantic pastel plantings in purples and whites, framed by reclaimed vintage gates, reflective water features, and a scented pavilion—crafted to evoke Galician 19th century gardens.

• Intentional Planting: Trachelospermum jasminoides climbing the pavilion, Prunus serrula trees framing the space, and soft underplanting including salvia, astilbe, and light pink roses.

• Layers of Meaning: Each design element expresses one of the women’s inspirations—from Rosalía’s romantic poetry and Emilia’s bold intellect, to Concepción’s social conscience and call for reflection.
