Wallwood House | The Studio is happy to announce that Wallwood House has received planning in partnership with .ldn!

Prior to KIT’s acquisition of the site, Wallwood had undergone planning 6 times and was unsuccessful. Focusing on the needs of a family, the house will blend elements of contemporary family living with natural, bespoke design. The design seeks to contribute to the future ethos of Leytonstone and its community: encouraging sustainable living, quality design and finish. Through its pure form, it seeks to compliment rather than compete with the surrounding context. Read more about Wallwood House on our website.

To what extent does skin become our focal point of perception?

The ways in which light interacts with our skin becomes a prism that can distort, subvert, or provide nuanced context of a person depending on our previous experiences and learnings. The histories carried within a specific tone or texture of a complexion are ones that are amplified, told, retold, and warped, to create complex connotations of one's skin that do not serve this present day.

This is impacted by our environment, as well—which is why photographer chose a space designed by to house her story for Atmos Volume 07: Prism. There, she used the architect's affinity for light and expansive space to explore how our surroundings can inform our perceptions of color and each other.
