“I will keep on making my art until the day I die, and even after I die, my spirit will keep creating new art.” —Yayoi Kusama, 1929–2026

The world has learned of the passing of Yayoi Kusama. Rising from humble roots in Japan, Kusama transformed the 1960s New York avant-garde and grew to become one of the most defining cultural icons of our time.

Her signature motifs of polka dots, pumpkins, infinity nets, and immersive installations captured the global imagination like few other artists in history. Though we mourn her loss, her infinite spirit lives on through the vibrant universe she created.

In addition to our talents in the saleroom and warehouse — our global team is literally teeming with practicing artists, and every August the walls are theirs.

The Staff Art Show rings with a newfound resonance this year, as we’re proud to celebrate 230 years of creativity and innovation, with artists always at the heart of our story.

Just Dropped: KidSuper

From the creative universe of artist and designer Colm Dillane, KidSuper captures the magic of New York City through seven new paintings inspired by chance encounters and the stories of its inhabitants. Brimming with narrative detail, the paintings offer a portrait of the city through Dillane’s singular lens.

The Drop also features an edition of 50 KidSuper Studio Cases, each containing a unique original drawing by Dillane. A contemporary reimagining of the classic travel trunk, each case is built for movement, memory, and discovery.

Now available on Dropshop.

An exhibition of the paintings and Studio Case will be on view at Phillips New York from 12–30 August.

“The reason why I so much enjoy being friends with cats is that they have two different characters: a wild side and a domestic side. This is what makes them interesting.” — Léonard-Tsuguharu Foujita

Cats were more than companions to Japanese-French artist Léonard-Tsuguharu Foujita — they were a lifelong muse. He began including them in his early reclining nudes, soon turning to his beloved felines as subjects when no human model was available, since they were always in his studio.

Happy International Cat Day!

Happy birthday to the king of Pop Art, Andy Warhol!

Warhol’s 'Cow' is a declaration of his creative ethos: a subversion of the historical canon and an embrace of commercial art, rendered in repetitive imagery and unnaturally vibrant hues.

Warhol debuted 'Cow' at his 1966 exhibition at Leo Castelli Gallery in New York, wrapping an entire room floor-to-ceiling in immersive wallpaper of the bovine icon in searing neon pink and yellow.

What’s your favorite Warhol subject?

Journey through time to a British seaside arts oasis.

Perched on Cornwall's rugged Atlantic coastline, St Ives became one of the defining centres of twentieth-century British Modernism, its dramatic seascapes and extraordinary light drawing artists into a new visual language of landscape and abstraction.

At the heart of this creative community: Barbara Hepworth and Ben Nicholson, whose vision gave rise to the St Ives School. Together with a generation of painters and sculptors, they turned a remote Cornish harbour town into one of Britain's great artistic capitals, a legacy still shaping modern art today.

Now on view at 30 Berkeley Square.
