How to effectively manage hybrid teams?

Those organisations that have adapted and implemented a hybrid working model are fully aware of its advantages to both employers and employees.

The hybrid working model helps to balance life and work in the most effective and flexible way since it allows employees to work where they can be most productive, whether in the office or remotely, thus saving time and energy.

At the same time, the employer will benefit from employee engagement and productivity, and will be able to attract talented employees anywhere in the world and save on office space.

But how do we effectively manage hybrid teams?

Let me give you 5 tips on how to manage hybrid teams and enable effective hybrid working.

1. Establish a hybrid workplace policy and a clear set of rules and expectations for all employees.

2. Implement an effective communication strategy. If your team is situated in multiple locations, clear and direct communication becomes central to team’s success.

3. One of the challenges of managing hybrid teams is making sure employees feel that they are being heard and appreciated as team members. Hold regular 121 and team meetings to maintain inclusivity and team spirit.

4. Create an environment of trust within your remote team. Refrain from ‘tracking hours’ culture and embrace an ‘outcome-based’ culture by creating a clarity of purpose and setting up clear and achievable goals.

5. Set aside “meeting-free” time or even a “meeting- free” day per week. It is a crucial time when employees can focus their attention on their work.
