**IMPORTANT INFORMATION**

Next month, the UK Government are set to make changes to YOUR pay!

There will be an introduction of the NHS Levy, meaning a national insurance increase of 1.25% to employee and employers, rising from 12% to 13.25%. This has been introduced by the government to raise extra funding for the NHS and social care.

On the other hand there is an increase at the same time to the National Minimum Wage. See attached a diagram from the GOV website describing how this may effect you or people around you!

The Prime Minister has announced increases in National Insurance Contributions (NIC’s) of 1.25% effective April 2022. The increase is to contribute within the NHS and social care sectors.

How will the increases apply to you?

- Class 1 contributions (employees NI). This is the NIC that is deducted from your earnings by your employer.
- Secondary Class 1 (employers NI). Employer's NIC contributions are paid as part of the regular PAYE/NIC payments.
- Class 4 (self-employed). These contributions are added to your annual Self-Assessment statement.

The increase will be factored into employers' budgets from April 2022. Self-employed persons will not see the impact of the increase until their Self-Assessment for 2022/23.
