Happy New Year!!!

Today is the first day of a BRAND NEW YEAR!

I was watching stories yesterday and I saw on story a question box asking what our word of the year is... I don't think I've chosen a word before and it got me thinking!

A lot has happened this year, it really has been a year of revelations of ME! 😂 I've got to know me, my brain and how it works, which I know sounds weird but trust me, it helps so much! I'm going to use that knowledge to (hopefully) get the best out of me!

So my word of the year is DO.

🌻DO the thing I want to to
🌻DO wear that outfit
🌻DO the things on my to do list that I hadn't because I thought I'd fail or that people would judge me
🌻DO, don't just be. DO 🙌

Today was finally the day where I actually felt cold?! 😍😍

Time to dust off the our hats and scarves! Cannot wait!

Brown paper packages tied up with string, these are a few of my favourite things!

There is something just so 🤌 special about brown paper packages! And double plus point is that it's EARTH FRIENDLY 🌍

I always strive to reuse packaging as much as I can and whatever I use new, is going to be recyclable.

This box you see? A box that some IKEA furniture came in 🤣
which I cut down to size!

It takes a bit longer but if anyone deserves that time, it's the Earth 💚🌍

Struggling to get your child to learn?
Try L E A R N I N G through play!

It's the best way to learn!
A child makes sense of the world through play.
Things learnt through fun, don't even feel like learning at all.

Think about it, what's more fun? A boring old worksheet or colorful loose parts, baskets (kids LOVE baskets!), and more importantly, MOVEMENT!
Kids need to be able to move as that's their natural need, they have all this energy and they need to dispel it. They can't do that with a pencil and paper!

🌈 R A I N B O W TINKER BASKET DUO 🌈

This basket was a customer request..
They asked me whether I could make it and, of course, you know I LOVE a challenge so I said yes.

The truth is, I didn't even think it'd be a challenge 😅 it's just a rainbow basket and I've made a tonne of those!

But.. HOW WRONG WAS I?!
The way I make these baskets meant it was definitely a challenge, more than I ever imagined, to make these.

I never shy away from a challenge so many, many, ends later, here we have it!
It was a learning experience and one I'm grateful for coz now I have 2 ways to make this basket!

Nowadays, kids have access to all sorts of entertainment via technology which is much easier for them to consume.
Think about it, if you can get you happy fix by doing nothing (watching) or by something easier (playing computer games) then WHY would you do something that takes work (imagination)?

And when toys are spread out, mixed-up, shoved in a box, it's EVEN HARDER as they've got to then sort it out and see what's there and what they can do with it.

So, make their life easier and get them playing and using their imagination by presenting their toys on an inviting and pleasant way!

It doesn't have to be a fancy set up.. just clear so they can see what they have and get their imagination flowing!

Try it and see what their response is!
