•TASTE OF LONDON• Visiting Taste of London yesterday really got me in the mood for Christmas! 🎄 We so enjoyed the fabulous lights, trees, decorations, live music and 'snow'! There were lots of tasty stocking fillers to pick up and of course lots of tempting food to sample 🤤 I've shared just a snippet here and in my stories. Thankfully the event was all pram friendly so I could bring my little one along.. I couldn't remember seeing any lifts the last time I was at this venue but they do have them! When Emilia was awake she loved all the lights and music 🙌🏼 Taste of London is on until tomorrow evening, I'd recommend a visit 💯

•BRIGADIERS• Lunching in impressive surroundings at Brigadiers, inspired by the army mess bars of India, where military regiments go to eat, drink and socialise. We sampled some excellent dishes full of vibrant colours and moreish flavours. My absolute favourite dishes were the Tandoori Lamb Chops, Indo Chinese Chilli Chicken Lettuce Cups and the Paneer Kurchan Anda Kati Roll - so delicious! I've wanted to visit here since it opened and it was well worth the wait! Highly recommend 🙌🏼

•ATCHA• I got to try some gorgeous Indian curries from a sustainable, delivery-only brand last week called Atcha, based in Hackney. I loved their unique combinations of flavours and how healthy each dish was. My favourite was the Northern Bowl; Baingan bharta (a smoky aubergine mash), with gobhi sabzi (curried cauliflower), daal, house kachumber (a peppery cucumber salad) and Kerala red rice 💯 - it was also vegan. Atcha offers meat, vegetarian and vegan options - all of which I really enjoyed.

•CRISPIN• I'd been recommended to visit Crispin by a friend. It is a small little restaurant on the edge of Spitalfields with cute decor and outdoor space for nice evenings. We had a truly delicious meal, I enjoyed every bite.. the idea is that you order plates to share although you are a bit limited if there are certain things you cannot eat like me 🤰🏼 the tomato salad with pesto and goats cream was beautifully made, the warm bread was delicious and I so enjoyed my duck breast with plum and peanut sauce. It may be because I am pregnant and my appetite insatiable but there just wasn't enough duck, it wasn't even a whole breast and was £16 for the dish. I cannot fault the taste but just the portion size. There weren't any sides to order with it either. If you visit I'd recommend you order the £59 menu of 'one of everything' for two to share. In hindsight I wish we'd done that but as mentioned it's tricky when you can't eat everything on the menu 🤷🏼‍♀️ I'd definitely recommend a visit though, the brunch and lunch options all look fantastic too, I'm keen to go back for those👌🏼

•DUCK AND WAFFLE• Just wrote a really long post for this and it wouldn't upload...why?!? 🤦🏼‍♀️ Spent a fantastic afternoon with Dad at Duck and Waffle with lots of great plates to share and a beautiful view to admire. My top menu recommendations would be; the foie gras créme brulée with pork crackling and marmalade brioche, the spicy ox cheek doughnut with apricot sauce and paprika sugar, the reginette pasta with confit duck egg, lemon thyme, wild mushrooms and truffle, roasted mixed greens with crushed almonds and of course the classic: duck and waffle. Don't make the mistake like us of not saving room for dessert! To drink, I had delicious strawberry mocktails whilst Dad was on the whiskey to calm his nerves from the high altitude 😬 We experienced excellent service and had a real treat of an afternoon, the weather was gorgeous so we could see for miles too 👀

•THE GARDEN HOUSE• Last week I visited the exquisite Beaverbrook estate with work. Not only does this estate boast beautiful 470 acre grounds, a grand hotel with 35 bedrooms, events space galore and a luxurious spa but it also offers three fantastic restaurants, one of which I had the pleasure of eating at. The Garden House is an Anglo-Italian restaurant where the chefs and gardeners work together to combine home grown produce with ingredients sourced from local and neighbouring counties. We got to sample a variety of starters including Puglian Burrata & Black Grapes, aged balsamic, extra virgin olive oil, Carpaccio of Sea Bass, avocado, cucumber, confit lemon
and Crispy Duck, Spring Onion & Radishes, Sesame & Pomegranate Dressing. For main I had the Tagliatelle of Pancetta,
Cima di Rapa and stem broccoli. We finished by sharing a delicious Apple Tarte Tatin with ice cream 😋 I'd recommend a visit to Beaverbrook for many reasons but particularly to explore their gorgeous grounds set amidst the Surrey Hills and to try their great food!!👌🏼 @ Beaverbrook

•TASTE OF LONDON• I thank my lucky stars that I get to live in the food capital of the world! 🌎 Had a great evening celebrating the opening of Taste of London at Regent's Park last night with fellow foodies.... the event is open until Sunday 23rd June (...what are you waiting for!?!) We sampled champagne at the VIP tent, food from Hoppers, The Baptist Grill and lots of Halo Top ice cream 😋 ..there were TOO many incredible eateries and bars to try - hoping to re-visit on Sunday!🤞🏻 a few of the dishes I really wanted to try were not pregnant friendly unfortunately, apparently I should be avoiding anything with truffle?!? 🤰🏼 Who knew! Thank YOU for putting on one heck of a foodie event❤ @ Regent's Park

•RICE BROTHER• Back in London and straight off to Spitalfields for lunch to try one of the famous rice rolls from Rice Brother... I ate the signature char siu roll packed with glutinous rice, sticky pork belly, Rousong roast peanut, egg omelette, pickled cucumber and red onion salad sesame dressing. It was more delicious than I could have imagined, particularly the scrumptious sticky rice and crunchy crackling of the pork belly. The variety of flavours and textures are what makes this rice roll so divine. I also sampled the Chinese fried Mantou (steamed buns) as dessert, served with condensed milk -
💥warning💥 highly addictive!🤤 @ Spitalfields
