A ‘Ta-Da’! moment at St Edmundsbury Cathedral, the first major capital project of its kind there.

We’ve installed 54 panels to the Nave South Aisle roof and a further 18 on the Lady Chapel roof.

The project marks a significant milestone in the Cathedral’s commitment to achieving net zero carbon use, and the system will generate over 25,000 kilowatt hours of electricity annually. It’s estimated to reduce the Cathedral’s electricity consumption by 20.4% and cut carbon emissions by 5.65 tonnes per year.

As we’re 20 this year, we’re continuing to look back at a selection of 20 past projects, marking our anniversary. ☀️

This time, it’s our work with The Metropolitan Police. This installation had to be completed within an extremely tight timeframe in a complicated live operational environment, as the riot police training facility was located next to the installation roof site.

The 118 kWp system was installed without any impact on the site’s operations, and helped the MET meet their carbon reduction targets, whilst generating a long term revenue stream.

When you hear the name Eric, who do you think of? Well for us, it’s not a person but a project! ☀️

We’re looking back at some stand out installations to mark twenty years since Joju was founded, and Project ERIC (Energy Resources for Integrated Communities) was a first of its kind.

It was a £1.2 million smart-energy pilot launched in Rose Hill, East Oxford, to reduce fuel poverty, lower electricity bills for low-income tenants, and cut carbon footprints by sharing excess solar energy locally between neighbours, instead of exporting it back to the grid.

Eric saw the installation of solar panels and smart batteries in 82 homes, a school, and a community centre, to create a virtual local power grid. We were delighted to be involved.

Smart, solar-powered shopping! ☀️

The Shires shopping centre in Trowbridge, offers “great shopping for all the family in the heart of Wiltshire”, and now they’ll be doing it with clean energy!

The single 300kWp array has multiple inverters, which effectively creates smaller, contained arrays, delivering energy to specific parts of the Centre including the Car Park and Boswells Café.

It’s been fantastic installing this as the first of many projects with M Core and we’ll be sharing more about it very soon.

🎶 On the night shift! 🎶

Finishing the week with Bart and Kush working out of hours on one of our latest installations.

It’s all in a day’s/night’s work for our team to ensure everything runs smoothly.

And, congratulations to Bart for reaching his fifth anniversary at Joju. From starting out as a trainee electrician, Bart has earned his electricians Gold Card, completed numerous qualifications, and been involved with many of our exciting commercial EV installations.

A huge thanks to Bart and to the entire talented team across the business who make Joju truly outstanding. ✨

Blue skies, green lines… ⚡

Check out our new rapid charging hub install: six bays charging up to 150kW.

Our Joju team has installed a brand new rapid hub at Langton Road, Blandford Forum recently, on behalf of Be:ev and in partnership with Dorset council.

Located close to a supermarket, it’s a perfect location to recharge during a longer journey or as part of a regular shop.

Supermarket solar! ☀️

This photo isn’t showing our installation team by the way… but back in 2010 these types of projects were only just beginning, so we had to get shoppers and a trolley involved! 🛒😊

It’s Joju’s 20 year anniversary this year and over the coming weeks, we’re looking back on 20 of our stand out projects.

We’re starting with this 284 panel, 50kWp, roof-mounted solar array at Aldi in West Oxford precisely because it was in the early days of something exciting. It was set up with community energy backing.

West Oxford Community Renewables (WOCoRe) was established by a group of local residents to build and manage community-owned renewable energy schemes. It was fantastic to partner with them to start reducing carbon and improving air quality in the area.

Since then, we’ve gone on to help thousands of clients generate their own clean energy, but it’s great to rewind and remember the feeling of delivering a typical annual generation of around 30,000kWh here. The electricity is sold to Aldi and the installation benefits from the Small-Scale Feed-In Tariff support scheme for 25 years.

Those were the days! ☀️

A sacred space goes solar… with 72 panels! ☀️

Installation work is underway on St Edmundsbury Cathedral in Suffolk, marking a significant milestone in the Cathedral’s commitment to sustainability.

Heritage buildings are one of our specialities and it’s wonderful to be able to play a part in the history of another incredible Cathedral. The solar will reduce their overall electricity bills by around 20.4% too.
