Struggling with sleep? Here are my quick go-to hacks! 🌙✨

Unwind with herbal tea—chamomile, lavender, valerian, or Yogi Sleep Tea work wonders. ☕️
Switch off screens and blue lights at least an hour before bed. 📱🚫
Relax tense muscles with a Shakti mat or gentle stretches—my favorite is the seated forward bend, so relaxing! 🧘‍♀️
Keep your room cool, and if you're cold-prone, cozy up with warm PJs, a heating pad, or a hot water bottle. ❄️🔥
For extra relaxation, listen to calming tunes and maybe rest on your favorite relaxer.

Traveling or staying over? Don’t forget to take your earplugs and slip some 🟦Sleep Patches 🟦into your bag! These natural, gradual-release patches have been a game-changer—helping me stay asleep without groggy mornings. Trust me, they’re a must-have! More info in the comments below. 👇

Sweet dreams, everyone! 🌙💤

Did you know? Neurodivergent individuals often have a tougher time with insomnia because their brains work differently, which can mess with their sleep. Conditions like autism and ADHD can make them more sensitive to sounds and lights, cause their minds to race, or make it hard to relax, all of which make falling asleep or staying asleep more difficult. They might also have irregular sleep-wake cycles or be more easily aroused, making it harder to stick to a regular sleep schedule. These brain and sensory differences are why insomnia is more common among neurodiverse folks.

Have you ever asked your GP about sleep hygiene? If so, what advice did you receive? If it felt a bit hit or miss, I don’t blame you—because sleep issues are complex and multifaceted. Unfortunately, during a typical doctor’s appointment, there often isn’t enough time to explore all the factors that might be affecting your sleep. And honestly, I can’t cover everything here either!

But if you’re struggling with falling asleep or staying asleep, here’s a helpful checklist of common issues to consider:

🔹 Stress and Anxiety: Are worries keeping your mind active at night?
🔹 Sleep Environment: Is your bedroom dark, quiet, and cool enough?
🔹 Sleep Schedule: Are you going to bed and waking up at consistent times?
🔹 Screen Time: Do you use screens (phones, tablets, TV) close to bedtime?
🔹 Caffeine and Stimulants: Do you consume caffeine late in the day?
🔹 Diet and Nutrition: Are heavy or spicy meals close to bedtime?
🔹 Physical Activity: Do you exercise regularly, but not too close to bedtime?
🔹 Alcohol Consumption: Are you drinking alcohol in the evening?
🔹 Sleep Disorders: Do you experience symptoms like snoring, gasping, or restless legs?
🔹 Medical Conditions: Are there underlying health issues affecting your sleep?

Remember, sleep problems are often a puzzle with many pieces. If you are curious to receive personal tips on sleep hygiene, message me.

If you want to explore a new dimension in flavour, treat your tastebuds to some Jambú- also known as the toothache plant. A rollercoaster: salty, floral, sharp and somewhat floral...it defies any category but you may like it if you appreciate Sichuan pepper!
I just made a batch of jambú salt and it is the most potent herbal salt ever ⚠️🤪

I know I have raved about the Organic coffee before, and it is one of my favourite picks...but the addition of Organic Complete Plant-Based Protein and giving it a whizz was genius. It created a light foam, like a frappe, but I guess you could also add ice cubes on a hot day. Recipe below 😉😁⬇️

🌿🥤 Love greens but hate salads? Try a green smoothie! Blend leafy greens like lettuce, dandelion greens or spinach or with sweet fruits like bananas, pears, or sweet veggies (like fennel or beetroot) plus spices or herbs for flavour - think cinnamon, ginger, mint,... Add additional fibre such as chia seeds and/or psyllium husks and a scoop of your favourite protein powder (vanilla is the most versatile here). They're quick, customizable, and perfect for a healthy boost anytime. Your body—and taste buds—will thank you! 🌱🥤✨

Salt's role in blood pressure is complex. While too much can raise it for some, others are affected by genetics, stress, and diet. Too little salt can also cause high blood pressure, dizziness, fatigue, and low stomach acid, which impairs digestion. Factors like obesity, inactivity, alcohol, and stress also impact blood pressure, so focusing only on salt isn't enough. Use personalized advice, maintain a balanced diet, and be cautious with processed salts containing additives. Overall, salt isn't universally harmful—balance and lifestyle matter.
