Everything changes when you realise this! 🤯 But really feeling silly is the peace of admission to doing anything new.

Almost everything feels embarrassing at first!!

It feels silly to start something with zero followers. It feels silly to put your face on the internet and share your thoughts on things when no one is there to cheer you on. It feels awkward to put your first product out there. Whatever it is!

No one starts confident. No one starts an expert. They get there by doing that thing A LOT of times.

So, do not let take that feeling of embarrassment as proof you’re not capable, know it just means you’re trying something new and bestie, we ALL FEEL LIKE THAT.

The secrets behind the launch ❤️

And I think the biggest of these for me is when you realise that the whole point of Instagram is to build a brand and a community.

When social media doesn’t work is when founders show up and every post is ‘buy this’, which just kills your reach and trust.

Now is a great time to think about the 80/20 rule as we head towards Christmas!

80% of your content should educate, entertain, inspire or add genuine value.

20% of your content to sell…. but only once you’ve got the engagement first!

And that’s what this account is all about - showing you how to do that! ☺️

I hope this is an interesting insight into a real launch from my stationery business Martha Brook | Personalised Stationery!

Oh, and by the way, I’ve not finished with the counterfeiting thing. It continues to plague my stationery business 😩 and I’m determined to use what we’ve learnt to help reduce its impact on other small businesses. More on that soon. 🙌

Because if you don’t try, it definitely won’t work will it? 💗

I was thinking about this yesterday as I embarked on something that right now feels a bit like a mountain to climb. I caught myself thinking, “barely anyone manages to make this work”… and that felt so scary.

BUT then I reminded myself, you have to be crazy enough to believe it will work, because those who succeed are the ones who do.

And gosh, I never want to look back and think I wish I had been braver. I wish I had TRIED more.

So, this is for anyone today who is insane enough to try.

That is the insane we like around here.

Whether you are a small business owner, or are here because you have something in your head you want to build, something you want to put out there. I hope I always inspire you to take those steps and start to give it a go,

Because we’re here to build dreams, not waste opportunities. ✨

Another easy idea and template for you 🙌

With September here, what do you want to give people a sign to buy or book?!

This Reel is perfect for that!

It is ideal for showing off a product collection - great if you’ve got anything launching soon for autumn, Halloween, or Christmas - or reminding someone of your service/experience if it is relevant right now.

How to do it:

✱ Save this audio!

✱ Start the Reel with the hook: This is your sign… over a 3.7-second clip that suggests something about the products you are going to ‘reveal,’ such as some B-Roll of you making the products, or some B-roll of you in your business.

✱ Then add 5x 0.3 seconds and 1 x 0.6 seconds (or use my template below!) of you either revealing each product to the beats of the audio or showing off what you do.

✱ Then for the final clip, which is 1.9 seconds, add your CTA over the top! E.g. Comment [WORD] to grab one before they are gone!

✨To use this as a template, click on the three dots and “Use template in Edits”. It will jump you to the Edits app, where you can delete any of my text you don’t want, and the timing of the videos to match the audio is perfectly done for you! ✨

That is literally it!!!!

One of my most asked questions! 🙌 How to come back to Instagram after you’ve had a break.

Here’s a content idea I swear by. Storyteling carousels are doing SO WELL on Instagram right now, and they are the perfect format to use to re-engage your followers.
