Healing from trauma
Trauma is a word I have always associated with people who have been through some horrific event or experience. To only now (today) wake up to the fact that I myself may have been raised in trauma, and living out the effects of it till this very day. Even after big insights into the innate nature of my well being. As a child I always felt lost, insecure and unloved. How much of that was true didn’t really matter. It’s what felt real to me as a child. Yet as a child I looked at what I thought I needed and made little pinky promises to myself. Like when you promise yourself never to allow anyone or anything to make you feel this way again. That came at the cost of always looking for acceptance from outside of myself from my peers, usually at the detriment of my own innate feelings of love. All of that has a funny way of showing up for me now from a feeling that does not look, sound or feel like trauma. Always trying to please, agreeing with everyone, losing my own opinion in the process. Always trying to prove to others but mainly to myself that I was lovable. That route only inadvertently keeps me stuck to the belief that I am not good enough.
The bueatiful feeling of this understanding has a way of comforting me in the realisation that all if the nice guy image was built on trauma. I’ve been prepared to give away everything I have in order to be liked. I’ve accepted unacceptable behaviours just to be liked. Even though the list goes on it is finite, insights are infinite.
Fresh acceptance , born out of insight.

Born Out of Insight
In 2017 I was impacted by an insight into how I saw life and my place in it.
Even though I was in prison I found a new yet innate level of peace and security in myself
Through insights we are all able to feel what is really of service to our wellbeing
Finding the capacity to allow insights to breathe and not stiffle them with what appears like good ideas is merely intellect masquerading as insight, and will have no longevity. ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Seven years after my insight into my potential, I’m still appreciating the infinitely open gift of insight
Derrick Mason Mentoring was born out of insight, and living from the feeling, without all of my previous long list of ideas of what I needed to show up before I was ready.
Being open to our insights allows us to show up in the most marvellously unexpected places. ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Finding peace and love is something I’ve always looked outside of myself for. Not knowing I was the source.
