The students from the prestigious Middlesex University recorded a message of appreciation to Ooni Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, acknowledging his steadfast support for youth empowerment and the journey of the UK Africa Trade Expo.

Watching the video was deeply moving.

What began as a vision to connect industry, education, and opportunity is now creating real moments of inspiration for students who are preparing to enter the world of innovation, entrepreneurship, and leadership.

The UKATE Industry Engagement Initiative was designed with a simple but powerful idea:

Bring real businesses, investors, and innovators into direct conversation with students before they graduate.

Not as a lecture.
Not as theory.

But as real dialogue, mentorship, and challenge.

And seeing students take the time to record a message of gratitude to Kabiyesi reminds us that leadership, encouragement, and belief in young people truly matters.

His Imperial Majesty has consistently championed the empowerment of youth across the world, and I remain deeply honoured by his trust in appointing me as International Economic Advisor to the Royal Family and Kingdom of Ile-Ife.

Moments like this remind me why we continue building bridges between Africa, the UK, academia, and global industry.

The future is bright when young minds are supported, challenged, and inspired.

Kabiyesi,
On behalf of the students and the wider UKATE community, we say thank you.

The journey continues.

Sometimes the most powerful moments are the quiet ones.

This week, students from Middlesex University recorded a video message of appreciation to Ooni Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, thanking him for his steadfast commitment to youth empowerment and for supporting the journey of the UK Africa Trade Expo.

Watching it was deeply moving.

These were not scripted words.
They were sincere reflections from young people who are beginning to see how leadership, opportunity, and belief can shape their future.

Through the UKATE Industry Engagement Initiative, students are now meeting directly with investors, entrepreneurs, and industry leaders.

Not through textbooks.
But through real conversations, real mentorship, and real opportunity.

That is where confidence is built.

That is where futures begin to take shape.

Kabiyesi has long championed the empowerment of young people, not only across Africa but globally. His vision and encouragement have been instrumental in the journey of UKATE.

I remain deeply honoured by his trust in appointing me as International Economic Advisor to the Royal Family and Kingdom of Ile-Ife.

When young people feel seen, supported, and inspired, something powerful happens.

They begin to believe in what is possible.

Kabiyesi, on behalf of the students and the wider UKATE community, we thank you.

The next generation is watching.
And they are ready.

Highlights from the UK Africa Trade Expo (UKATE) 2025.

We are proud to have had the honour of hosting Ms. Andrea Engel, UK Country Manager for the World Bank Group and IFC.

Her contribution was outstandingly clear, insightful, and grounded in real-world impact. Andrea highlighted the critical role that agriculture, innovation, and strategic financing play in shaping Africa’s economic future, and why platforms like UKATE are essential in bridging global expertise with African opportunity.

Her message was simple but powerful: Africa’s growth will be accelerated when global institutions, local governments, and private-sector innovators sit at the same table and take action.

This is exactly why UK Africa Trade Expo exists.
Less talk.
More solutions.
Real partnerships.

Thank you, Andrea, for bringing the World Bank Group’s perspective to our community and reinforcing the urgent need for collaborative investment in Africa’s priority sectors.
