Frequently asked questions:

(1) Are Fish affected ?

No. They are happy to carry on swimming around the hull.

(2) Do I need Antifouling paint ?

No need to use with our system. Some hulls last longer with anti fouling paint so please check this out.

(3) Does our system affect Echo Sounders ?

No. Both work on different frequencies.

(4) Why do we bond transducers direct to hull?

To transmit maximum power to the hull and stop transducers coming loose through vibration.

(5) What is the power consumption ?

Average is under 3W per transducer on 12 & 24 V inputs.
0.28 AMP/hour per transducer.

(6) What size solar panels to use ?

In UK and Canada use 80W per transducer. In Florida and Spain 50w. Contact us for further information.

(7) Can I make my own transducer cables ?

Yes you can. Suggest RG6 satellite cable with plated brass F-type cable connectors.

(8) What is maximum transducer cable length ?

We now have new driver technique to allow up to 100m using RG6 cable.

(9) Do I have to replace a fuse if there's a fault ?

No. We use electronic fuses in both inlet and transducer drive circuits. They will automatically reset after fault removed.

(10) Can you use our system to protect sea chests ?

Yes no problem. Ask for further information.

(11) Do you have system for commercial vessels ?

We have a similar system to this one designed for military systems and tested to a higher temperature & vibration range.

(12) Is it dangerous if transducer cable is damaged ?

No, we use low voltage 30V max power and signalling to the transducer. Not dangerous high voltage as used by some of our competitors.
