Simple truth:

I’m brilliant at sorting other people’s admin.

Mine? Sometimes it’s a full-blown s**t show.

And I think that’s why I’m good at what I do.

I’m not some perfectly organised admin fairy who wakes up at 5am, drinks green juice and updates spreadsheets for fun.

I know what chaos feels like.

I know what it’s like to have too many tabs open in your browser and your brain.

I know what it’s like when you’re brilliant at your work, but the admin, invoices, follow-ups and “boring but important” bits keep moving down the list.

So when I work with trade and service business owners, I don’t judge the chaos.

I just help sort it.

Simple things like:

- Getting your inbox under control
- Chasing unpaid invoices
- Keeping your diary manageable
- Following up with customers
- Setting up basic systems
- Making sure everything doesn’t live in your head

No jargon.

Seven years ago I started my business during one of the most chaotic periods of my life.

I was going through a divorce, selling the family home, raising a toddler, and trying to figure out how on earth I was going to rebuild financially.

It definitely wasn’t a perfectly mapped-out business plan.

It was more a case of:

“Right… let’s figure this out.”

So I started helping business owners with admin as a Virtual Assistant.

Emails.
Diaries.
General back-office support.

But something interesting happened over the years.

Clients didn’t just want help doing tasks.

They wanted help figuring out what the tasks should be in the first place.

Things like:

• sorting out messy inboxes
• spotting operational bottlenecks
• creating simple systems
• bringing some calm to the day-to-day chaos of running a business

I realised I loved that part.

Helping people go from:

Overwhelmed → Organised → Breathing again.

So naturally my role evolved.

Less
“Can you help with this admin task?”

More
“Can you help me run this business better?”

Which is why Zen Assist is now stepping more into operational support / OBM-style work.

Same calm energy.

Just a bigger toolbox.

And if those early years taught me anything…

It’s this:
