Happy Birthday Mr Oluwaferanmi Aluko — Founder & Executive Director, TheQuestLab CIC
We are late. And honestly, that feels on-brand for a team writing about a leader who has taught us that the work is never about the timing of the announcement — it’s about whether the thing is honest enough to stand. So here we are. A few hours behind. Saying it properly.
What stands out, working with you, isn’t just what you build but the discipline behind how you build it. You don’t reach for easy answers, and you won’t let us reach for them either. You stay with a question, a brief, a structure, a sentence until it earns the right to stand. You let meaning rise from its core.
You have a way of naming what a community needs before the community has the words for it. Migrants. Young professionals. Belonging. Becoming.
You don’t perform the observation —you turn it into a programme, a podcast, a plan. That precision is part of the work, not separate from it.
There is also a consistency to you that is easy to miss if someone only sees the deliverables. The shortcuts you don’t take. The flattery you don’t accept. The credit you redirect. The places where you choose structure over comfort, and clarity over approval.
It all accumulates. And more importantly for us as a team, it creates a working environment where there is room to think, draft, debate, question, and be wrong out loud without feeling small. That space is rare, and you protect it without making a show of protecting it.
Your birthday is a gift to the work, and to us. Late post, but a real one. We are very glad to be building this with you.
Happy Birthday, Oluwaferanmi.

(Late post by the team on occasion of Oluwaferanmi’s 25th birthday… again! 😉 We blame the content calendar. And ourselves.)
