For the past 15 years I have successfully trained, mentored and coached clients - individuals, leaders, partnerships and teams - through periods of extreme change and uncertainty. I understand the overwhelming challenges that leaders face during these ambiguous times.. What started as an idea is now becoming something real.

Over the past few weeks, we’ve been finalising:
• premium participant workbooks
• leadership and stress assessments
• coaching integration
• accountability structures
• experiential Module One exercises

And honestly? We’re excited by the calibre of leaders choosing to step into this journey.

The founding cohort is taking shape with senior leaders from across sectors already joining the room.

Perhaps most encouragingly, we’re already seeing interest build for the September and November cohorts too.

This year’s theme is Action.

So here’s one of ours.

Leadership Catalyst - which kicks off on 20th & 21st May - includes a detailed Stress Quotient Assessment for every participant.

Because leadership development without wellbeing awareness is incomplete.

Too many senior leaders are succeeding externally while quietly operating in chronic stress internally:
high responsibility, constant visibility, decision fatigue, emotional labour, pressure to always “hold it together.”

And over time, that becomes unsustainable.

The Stress Quotient Assessment helps leaders understand:
• their personal stress patterns and triggers
• how pressure impacts behaviour, communication and decision-making
• where resilience is being depleted
• the hidden cost of over-functioning
• what healthier, more sustainable leadership actually requires

Sometimes life hands you lemons.

And sometimes, if you are paying attention, those lemons are actually an invitation.

I was meant to be on a flight from Lagos back to London.

The flight was cancelled.

At first, of course, it was frustrating. Plans disrupted. Commitments moved. That familiar airport feeling of, “Really? Today?”

But then I realised something.

Because I was still in Lagos, I was able to attend my CIoD Nigeria Induction Ceremony in person.

And not just attend.

I was able to walk across that stage, receive my certificate, and formally join a community of leaders committed to governance, ethics, stewardship and impact.

A cancelled flight became a full-circle moment.

Over the last year, the governance training I have received through CIoD Nigeria has genuinely been one of the best development experiences I have had. Rigorous. Practical. Stretching. Deeply relevant.

As someone who serves on a board, advises leaders and works with senior teams, I am always reminded that development does not stop when we get the title.

In many ways, that is when the real development begins.

Leadership requires continuous learning.

Governance requires humility.

Influence requires accountability.

And legacy requires us to keep growing into the responsibility we carry.

This moment was also deeply personal.

My papa would have been so proud.

Proud to see me carrying the baton back home.

Proud to see me continuing the work of leadership, service and contribution in Nigeria.

Proud to see that the seeds he planted are still bearing fruit.

So yes, my flight was cancelled.

But I gained a ceremony, a memory, a milestone — and a reminder that sometimes what feels like disruption is actually divine rearrangement.

Thank you CIoD Nigeria for the honour, the learning and the continued challenge to lead with integrity.

I’m excited to continue my own governance and leadership development journey.
