Many of us have been told that success is not about what you know, but who you know.

And because of this, many people are now focused on building connections, increasing their network, and knowing as many people as possible.

Some of us feel excited because we have thousands of contacts, hundreds of status views, or access to influential people. We feel proud that we know this person, we know that person, and we are connected to certain people.

But when it comes to destiny fulfillment and true success, you may be shocked to discover that among the hundreds or thousands of people around you, only a few of them are truly necessary for where God is taking you.

Just a few.

And sometimes, the people you actually need may not be the popular ones, the rich ones, or the people in high positions.

It may be that one close friend.
That one business partner.
That one colleague.
That one person God has placed around you to help you build something extraordinary in the future.

So stop chasing numbers.

Do not assume someone is important to your destiny simply because they are rich, famous, influential, or highly placed.

Instead, pray for discernment.

Ask God to help you see clearly who is truly connected to your journey and who is not.

And when God helps you recognize the few people who are necessary for your destiny, value them. Cherish them. Protect the relationship.

Yes, there may be misunderstandings.
There may be arguments.
There may be moments of disappointment.

But once you are convinced that someone is important to where God is taking you, do your best to handle that relationship with wisdom, patience, and love.

One of the biggest ways the devil can bring you down is not always by attacking you directly.

Sometimes, it is by distracting you.

The moment he can get you focused on something else, he has won. And the sad thing is, most times when you are distracted, you may not even know. You may think you are making progress, not knowing that you have already moved away from what God has sent you to do.

Responding to everything is one of the fastest ways to lose focus.

We need to understand that if we truly want to succeed, we must learn to identify the people and things that matter to our success, and those that do not.

For example, if your goal is to graduate with a first class in school, someone insulting you or criticizing you has nothing to do with your final grade. When your scores are being calculated, their opinion will not be added or removed.

The people who matter are those who can help you grow, teach you, challenge you, support you, and make you better. They may be your lecturers, serious classmates, mentors, or people who know more than you and are willing to help.

Those are the people that matter to your goal.

This is why many great people are often misunderstood. People may call them proud, stingy, unavailable, or too serious. But the truth is, great people are focused.

They know who they need. They know what they need. And they give their attention to those things.

If you keep responding to everything, engaging in everything, and explaining yourself to everyone, you will lose focus, lose speed, and lose direction.

The success of your business or brand is highly dependent on your capacity as the leader.

No matter who you have on your team, if you do not grow as a leader, your business will eventually struggle to grow.

Yeah, it is actually very difficult to start a business and become successful, especially when you are starting on your own as a founder.

But what determines the success of a business is not just the economy, not just your team members, and not even just the availability of money.

The success of a business depends on many factors, and most of them are highly influenced by the capacity of the leader.

Many people start businesses, and when things begin to fail, they blame the team, the economy, customers, or circumstances.

But if you as the leader do not build the capacity to understand structure, vision, clarity, strategy, systems, and ex*****on, that business will struggle to succeed.

Human beings naturally give excuses, especially when we do not want to take responsibility.

The moment we try something and it does not work, many people immediately begin to explain why it failed.

You try a business, and it does not work, the economy is bad.
You apply for a job and do not get it, the unemployment rate is too high.
You try to gain admission and it does not happen, the system is corrupt.

Humans naturally look for excuses, especially when responsibility feels uncomfortable.

But here is the danger:
When you, who truly want to make progress, stay around people who constantly avoid responsibility, you can unconsciously begin to think like them.

That is how the human mind works.
Our minds are shaped by what we constantly hear and see.

Every time you hear people endlessly blaming the economy, the country, or other external factors without taking action, something is being registered in your mind.

And over time, you may begin to believe that success is impossible.
Yes, economic realities are real. Challenges exist.

But difficult times are not new.
History has seen worse situations than this. Go and do your research.

There were times in history when economies collapsed severely, when poverty was extreme, when families lost almost everything.

Yet even in difficult seasons, some people still found ways to create opportunities, build value, and rise.

Even in this same economy people complain about, some are still growing businesses, getting opportunities, and creating wealth.

So do not use the economy as an excuse to stop trying.

And most importantly, do not constantly surround yourself with people whose only contribution is complaint without action.

In everything, give thanks, because you do not always know what God is planning for you.

So do not always feel bad when you do not get what you want.

Do you know that there are some prayers many of us prayed in the past that were actually bigger than our capacity at that time? If God had answered some of those prayers immediately, many of us might have entered serious problems or not been able to sustain what we asked for.

Some prayed to travel abroad.
Some prayed for certain business opportunities.
Some prayed for a change of environment.
Some prayed for specific blessings that never came at the time.

And many times, what looked like disappointment may actually have been God’s mercy protecting you.

So choose to look at the brighter side, not just the painful side.

The next time something does not happen in your favor, do not become bitter toward God or angry at life.

Instead, pause and consider that maybe something greater, better, or more suitable is being prepared for the right time.

Never become so confident in your own strength that you forget life can present battles bigger than your preparation.

There are moments in life where your knowledge alone will not be enough.

As a business owner, you can plan well, build a great product, hire the right people, do excellent marketing, and still face an unexpected economic crisis.

As a brilliant student, you can study day and night and suddenly face a health challenge close to exams.

As a hardworking employee, you can give your best and still be affected by company downsizing.

This does not mean preparation is useless. No. It means while preparation can solve many problems, there are some things bigger than human control.

That is why you prepare like everything depends on your discipline, but remain humble and dependent on Him who can control all things.

This isn't an excuse for laziness or to neglect the need for preparation, but while you do all that, keep your focus on God.

Money and resources are very important in business, but they have never been the very first thing needed to start a business.

Before money comes in, there are many other things you need to put in place.

You need to define your vision and truly understand it.
You need to expand your knowledge, exposure, and capacity for that business.
You need to clearly identify the problem you are solving and who your target audience is.
You need to shape and structure the brand and position the business properly.

So do not let the absence of money discourage you from taking the necessary steps you can already take.

When you do those things, you are showing that you believe in the idea and are serious about bringing it to life.

Take the step of faith. Start with what you can do now. Build what you can build now.

And as you keep moving, the other things you need will begin to follow.

It is sad that in today’s generation, many young people are desperately seeking opportunities — jobs, employment, business opportunities, or simply any means of making income.

And in many cases, especially among the spiritually inclined, they invest the majority of their time, effort, and resources into building their relationship with God, while investing little or nothing into building their knowledge.

You see an average young person investing heavily spiritually, but doing very little to build their intelligence, their knowledge, and their mental capacity.

And yet, they still expect God to magically place them into opportunities that are bigger than their current capacity and pay them beyond what they have prepared for.

Not that it is impossible. God can create unusual opportunities. Miracle jobs happen.

But in today’s world, especially in this technology-driven age, there are certain positions you cannot access, and certain levels you cannot sustain, if you are not built in knowledge, intelligence, and mindset.

So while you work on your spiritual life and your relationship with God, also build your mental capacity.

Take time to study.
Take time to research.
Take time to expose yourself.

Because in this age, if you cannot take out even a few minutes daily to intentionally learn and grow, unfortunately, you will be left behind.
