Just wanted to let everyone know you should be able to delay your Council Tax payments by two months, so the 10 equal payments start from 1 June rather than 1 April.
All it took was a quick call to my local Council, I explained my situation and they amended the start date there and then, I was on the phone for less than 10 minutes.

HMRC have set up a help line specifically for the self employed and businesses who will be struggling now due to the Coronavirus.

The Coronavirus helpline : 0300 456 3565

They will give you advice on your tax and any benefits available to you.

Also there is a HMRC number for anyone with any tax worries, whether it is that they can't pay, want to stop payments or just need something clarified. Personal Tax, VAT, PAYE or Corporation Tax. They are incredibly helpful. The number is 0800 0159 559. They are prepared to help in any way that they can, the last thing they want is any UK company/individual to go into debt because of this virus.

Can you believe today is β€œDon’t Cry Over Spilled Milk Day”?! 😒πŸ₯›

I am new to posting on social media so looking at lots of different websites and avenues I can explore and whilst, when I first read β€œDon’t Cry Over Spilled Milk Day” I thought β€œseriously, how crazy to have such a day” then I went on to read what this day celebrates.

It is a day that encourages you not to worry about the small stuff, which I know I am certainly guilty of, take a moment to breathe and reconnect with your inner peace.

I used to be a terrible worrier, and still am sometimes, but since starting my own business I feel so much more in control, as I only have myself to answer to! I just either deal with things there and then or forget about them as they are just not important!

The quicker I action things the more space I have to think about the positive things in life and the happier I am!

Tips on Great Customer Service

Offering good customer service is not rocket science, it is simply offering your customers the level of service you, yourself, would expect to receive. Here are a few simple tips:

⏱️ Quick response time – if you have received any negative feedback, irrespective of how large or small you deem it, respond to the customer quickly and efficiently. If you have little time then send a quick holding email thanking them for their correspondence and confirm a time for when you will respond in more detail, this will give you the time you need to investigate the matter fully.

πŸ‘‚ Listen and/or read thoroughly – always ensure you understand what the customer is saying or what they are asking for before responding to their comments/correspondence. Do not assume you know what they are unhappy about.

πŸ‘ Keep your word – if you promise your customer something then make sure you deliver, whether it is a date to return and fix something or a time limit for you to look into their complaint further, e.g. 72 hours, make sure you deliver.

πŸ™‹ Be proactive – going the extra mile is one of the most important things you can do to establish good customer service.

Customer Service, how important is it?

I went to Pizza Express with my family on Saturday lunchtime, my parents, husband and two daughters (aged 5 and 7) and found we had to wait quite some time for our food to arrive! This is going to be a moan, I hear you say . . .
. . absolute not, the waitress who served us was fantastic right from the start, she was friendly, chatty and accommodating, making sure my dad’s large Peroni arrived very swiftly πŸ˜‰!

The issue occurred with the technology, when she processed the order there was a technical glitch resulting in the kitchen not receiving it!

This was obviously no ones fault but could have been a real issue, especially for my two hungry daughters, however, the waitress explained the situation, apologised, kept us fully informed, even making it fun for my daughters when they kept asking her β€œhow long was lunch going to be?”, she kept a smile on her face throughout.

The food arrived and was very enjoyable πŸ˜‹, we ended up having a lovely leisurely lunch πŸ•.

Customer service is key to all businesses, whether B2C or B2B, having a strong procedure in place for dealing with disgruntled customers is fundamental.

It still surprises me the number of businesses, both large and small, who really don’t value their customers.
