HR should be leading on environmental objectives? Hmmmm.

HR should most defiantly be inspiring ideas, giving support, guidance and direction..... leading though? If a business owner/ leader isn't interested in their companies environmental impact what do you do??

What are your values as a business?

(the usual)
1. Integrity
2. Boldness
3. Honesty
4. Accountability.......

and the list goes on.

All great concepts and easily defined and built into your people practices. HOWEVER, if the generations coming into the workforce now 'see the climate emergency as the single biggest issue of their generation' what are employers doing to ensure that this becomes part of a meaningful set of values that secures a future beyond the realms of the business?

Perhaps a good place to start is what you offer your employees as a benefits package..... maybe ditch the free fruit and opt of a more carbon neutral/ negative alternative???

Employee benefits have come a long way from a generous pension contribution and free milk in the office.
