The Future of Jobs Report 2025 from the World Economic Forum delivers the clear insight that as we approach 2030, human-centred soft skills will continue to be the foundation of success in every workplace.

Skills like…
⚡️Resilience, adaptability, and agility
⚡️Leadership and positive influence
⚡️Curiosity and a commitment to lifelong learning
⚡️Motivation and self-awareness

…are already shaping strong leaders and their importance will only keep growing.

Even as AI, data analytics, and digital tools transform the way we work, it’s the human qualities that set people and organisations apart. Technology changes rapidly, but the capacity to think critically, learn continuously, and connect meaningfully remains uniquely human.

ARMSA Academy equips leaders to think clearly, act with confidence, and make sound decisions when uncertainty is high.

Risk doesn’t wait… and neither should you.

Great projects don’t start with a shovel - they start with sharp thinking. At ARMSA, our Thinking Manager webinar series is built around one key truth:

💡The most critical decisions happen at the VERY start of a project.

For one webinar, we welcomed Matt Boss, Head of Development at Cubico Sustainable Investments, who shared powerful insights on front-end-loaded (FEL) decision-making and the Stage Gate model - a method that can turn early planning into long-term project success.

Here’s what we learned:
✅ 70% of organisations use the Stage Gate model
❌ But only 30% always apply FEL decision-making
💡Those who do enjoy 10% lower costs, 7% faster delivery, and 5% fewer changes

In renewable energy, where development phases can stretch 2–4 years, early decisions shape everything - from cost and safety to commercial strategy.

Development isn’t admin. It’s the springboard to value creation which is why we have developed a brand new training programme for developers starting September 2025. In the meantime, dive into this blog to learn more 👇

On World Day of Social Justice, we’re reminded of the importance of creating a more equitable world. One pressing issue where social justice and sustainability intersect is fuel poverty. As energy prices continue to soar, millions of households struggle to afford basic heating and electricity. 🌍

This is where renewable energy can make a real difference. By growing the renewable energy sector, we can provide clean, affordable power to those who need it most, helping to alleviate fuel poverty, create jobs, and promote energy security for vulnerable communities. 💡🌱

This is why we proudly support Renewable World - a charity dedicated to lifting communities out of fuel poverty and empowering them to develop sustainable and resilient livelihoods.

On this day, let’s renew our commitment to a future where everyone has access to affordable, clean energy. Please consider supporting the incredible work that Renewable World is doing to bring sustainable energy solutions to those who need it most. Let’s make a difference this World Social Justice Day.

Did you know that major volcanic eruptions don’t just cool the planet—they can also impact wind energy production? 🌋

Recent research reveals that volcanic eruptions do not only cause surface cooling, they weaken atmospheric circulation and suppress tropical convection, which in turn slows wind speeds worldwide thereby affecting wind power generation. 🌱

As the renewable energy sector continues to grow, it’s vital to understand and plan for these potential challenges. What are your thoughts on how we can adapt? 🤔

It’s well known that major tropical volcanic eruptions inject gases and tiny particles high into the atmosphere that can cause global cooling, but now research shows that they can also reduce surface wind speeds, posing a serious challenge for wind energy production. When the Indonesian volcano Mo...

The global wind industry is on the brink of an exciting transformation. As tenders reach new heights and countries like Greece and Italy prepare to tap into offshore wind in 2025, the sector is gearing up for unprecedented growth. China has seen a remarkable 8% annual increase in onshore wind, while other regions are steadily advancing.

With operational capacity set to exceed 1,800 GW by 2028, the wind industry is scaling at an extraordinary pace to meet global climate goals. As this rapid expansion continues, the importance of safe, informed decision-making is more critical than ever. That’s why our market-leading IOSH Managing Safely for Wind Power programmes are in high demand. Our Q1 course is already underway, and we’re now accepting reservations for our Q2 online programme!

Here’s what you can expect:

Budget constraints. Sound familiar? 🤔
Too often, we hear of safety and performance being compromised as a result of finances that we designed a video to help. Rakesh has some pointers on improving performance with a limited budget ⏬

When Boston Energy reached out to ARMSA Academy in in early 2024, we had little idea how seriously it took development and planning.

Since 2012, Boston Energy hasn't only invested £3.2m in technician development, spent 2.2m hours supporting their customers across 100+ global projects - this week, it invested in developing the senior team too!

Recently the executive team rallied around a table to explore:

⚡️Roles and responsibilities in complex renewable project structures
⚡️Integrating systems of management and processes
⚡️Managing international teams
⚡️Strategies for safe outcomes and optimal organisational structures
⚡️Frameworks for assessing operational design in high-risk tasks
⚡️Tender specifications and resource/work design
⚡️Leveraging safety as a competitive advantage

✅ Expectations like these are right down ARMSA Academy’s street. Using 's Safety for Executives and Director's programme as a basis, decision-makers rolled up their sleeves and got stuck right in...
.and we are delighted with the feedback.🤗

'The day has given me further knowledge and confidence around our complete H&S Business Strategy'

'It clarified a number of unknowns around legislation and also key skills and principles to put into play in real life situations'

'[The delivery was] incredibly industry specific'

Thank you team Boston Energy! 🙏🏼 Smiles at the end of a tough 8-hour session were impressive. Wishing you every success at WindEurope 2024 -Hamburg and beyond.

All eyes are on Paris 🇫🇷 as we enjoy this year’s Olympics but we’ve been asking how sustainable are the 2024 games? 🤔

“Paris 2024 has made sustainability a part of its DNA since the bid. So, since the bid, there's been an analysis of what could be our emissions if we didn't do anything. And then, what could we act upon to reduce those emissions and take a chance of, you know, being aligned with this ambition of reducing our emissions by half?" Georgina Grenon Director of Environmental Excellence for the Paris Games, said.

Organisers have focused on reducing emissions across three categories:

👷construction
🚖 transportation and
🏟️operations

The largest change from previous games is in construction; with 95% of facilities either already existing or temporary. ✅

However the announcement that the ARMSA team were delighted to hear is that energy represents only 1% of emissions. Organisers say the games use 100% renewable power from wind and solar farms, plus solar panels. ☀️💨 ✅

It seems that the greatest challenge is how to reduce transportation-related emissions. In Paris, there are low-carbon transport options, including cycling routes 🚲, metro trains 🚆, buses 🚌 and other public transport. However, how can organisers control how people travel to the Olympics?🤔

Food for thought as we congratulate France on the sustainability progress to date. 🇫🇷
