"A high-performance culture is so much more than just a management buzzword. With an emphasis on highly motivated staff, it’s intrinsic to successβ€”and something every business owner should strive toward.

"In a nutshell, it’s a culture that empowers employees to work toward your company’s success.

"It’s difficult to achieve, and not without its risks. Create a culture that’s entirely centred around results and staff could suffer serious burnout, leading to resignations, reduced productivity, low morale and more."

These wise words are from our Founder & CEO Peter Done, who shared his expert insight with Forbes and Forbes Business Council, of which Peter is a member πŸ‘‰

Let’s explore how to get the balance right.

There’s another change on the way in regards to statutory sick pay (SSP), as well as the closure of the Coronavirus SSP Rebate Scheme.

From 24 March, SSP will no longer be payable from day 1️⃣ if people are unable to work because they are sick or self-isolating due to Covid.

Pre-pandemic SSP rules will apply instead where it will be applicable from day 4️⃣ of sickness.

Employers should inform staff of the changes to SSP entitlement and update their sick pay policies. For employers that wish to encourage employees to self-isolate should they test positive, they may wish to offer company sick pay.

If you have any questions or need any assistance at all, please don't hesitate to contact me.

The SSP Rebate Scheme is ending on Thursday.

Employers have until 24 March 2022 to submit their claims under the scheme which allows employers with less than 250 employees to recoup up to 2 weeks’ SSP for each employee who was off sick with a Covid-related absence
between 21 December 2021 – 17 March 2022.

Our HR Advice & Consultancy Director Kate Palmer, explains more in theHRDIRECTOR ➑️ https://snip.ly/1l8lls

If you have any other questions please don't hesitate to message me.

ℹ️ Employers must keep certain records relating to claims made under the SSP Rebate Scheme for three years from the date they receive payment for their claim.

The removal of the day one right to receive SSP for Covid absences will likely pose some challenges for employers. Now there is no legal requirement to self-isolate in positive cases, employers may still wish to encourage their staff to stay at home in the interest of health and safety.
