Finally managed to get some half decent snaps of all the work we did for The Society of The Spectacles ( and ) from way back in 2017. Everything was trapped in a drawer when we moved house so it’s only taken the best part of a decade to dig it all out.

More alignment details or as we used to call it — “lining through.” This time for the ‘UNITY’ and ‘UNITY REMIXES’ albums (physical and digital) for from a few years ago. The underlying theme for all the design work was to project “unity, harmony and balance visually” throughout.

So this is the crappy, rough, super quick visual I drew for the double album digipak idea. I did this “scamp” just after 11pm last Friday night. Scotland were 1:0 down and it wasn’t looking good tbh. I did this in case I forgot everything by the time I woke up in the morning. I mean I likely wouldn’t have, but you never know.

This then allowed me to work up a full design and visual to send onto the client the next morning (above.) Made a few slight aesthetic changes to things that didn’t quite work, but essentially it’s pretty close to what I envisaged.

The other idea I was toying with was to do a “Daytime Edition” (completely white) and a “Nighttime Edition” (completely black) as the two albums represent the idea of day/night so it did make sense. However I decided after working them up (also above) that this was far too extravagant, expensive and a far too ‘Smashing Pumpkinsy” kind of thing to do.
