Additional Travel Days for Inter Island Service

Hebridean Air Services has announced that the 2026/27 winter timetable for the Stornoway to Benbecula service will include two additional travel days.

The new timetable, which runs from 25th October to 28th March, expands the service with 2 return flights a day from Monday to Friday.

The additional travel days will increase choice for users of the services and add resilience in the event of flight cancellations or service disruption.

Cllr Uisdean Robertson, Chair of Comhairle nan Eilean Siar’s Transportation and Infrastructure Committee said: “The expansion of the Stornoway to Benbecula service is welcome. The addition of flights on Wednesday’s and Thursday’s will improve the usability of the service for residents and reduce the need for overnight stays on either side of journeys. The service is susceptible to weather-related disruption, the two additional travel days will add resilience for passengers. With consideration for the available budget, Comhairle nan Eilean Siar will continue to work closely with the operator to ensure that the service meets the need of the community and public sector organisations.”

Ground Operations & Customer Service Agent (Part-Time)
Location: Stornoway Airport

Hebridean Air Services, part of Airtask Group, operates the inter-island Passenger Service on behalf of Comhairle nan Eilean Siar and we’re looking for a part-time Ground Operations & Customer Service Agent to join our team at Stornoway Airport.

This varied role will provide ground support and customer service for the Stornoway-Benbecula route, helping to ensure passengers and baggage are checked in safely and efficiently and flights operate smoothly and on time.

Responsibilities include passenger check-in, coordinating with flight crews and airport services, supporting passengers during delays or schedule changes, handling enquiries, and providing general operational support.

We’re looking for someone who:
• Has experience in a customer-facing role, ideally within aviation, travel or hospitality
• Has excellent communication and organisational skills
• Can work confidently on their own initiative and under pressure
• Has a good working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
• Holds a valid driving licence

This is a great opportunity to become an integral part of a small, friendly team within a unique aviation environment.

Airtask Group is looking for an experienced aviation professional to join our team as Nominated Person – Ground Operations, based full time at our Head Office in Milton Keynes.

This is a key role within the business, with responsibility for the safety, compliance and operational efficiency of our ground operations network, helping to maintain the integrity of our Air Operator Certificate (AOC).

We’re looking for someone with:
🔹 A minimum of 5 years’ experience in aviation ground operations
🔹 At least 2 years in a senior management or supervisory role
🔹 In-depth knowledge of relevant regulations and dangerous goods legislation
🔹 The experience and credentials required to be accepted as a Nominated Person by the Civil Aviation Authority
